I really like the way it shows off your exhaust like that. Dope

Damn, SSFury. It looks really good. Now I'm considering doing that to my car.

To me that looks amazing. If I can find an extra lower section to cut, I will probably be copying you- and possibly bugging you for advice!

I have some matte black plastic-dip I used to paint the rear light bezels, I would probably black out the crash bar if I go through with the surgery.

SSFury,

What did you use to cut the panel? I decided I'm going to copycat your modification.

I just used a die-grinder with a cut off wheel to make the cuts, then a 2 in dotco pad with a 2' 180 grit disc to clean it up. Finish it up with a good draw file to smooth it out. Just remember that its plastic, and flaws can't be "Buffed out", so take your time.

One other thing you are going to have to do, is there is a plastic "Honeycomb" styled support behind the diffuser to give it strength so it doesn't "Flutter" at speed. It comes off real easy, there are only 5 or 6 plastic tabs that hold it in place. There are some wires attached to it, so just move it aside to trim the diffuser. Once you trim the diffuser, the support structure behind it needs to be trimmed down also. I just left the structure intact up to where the support tabs are, then cut the rest off. It will make sense when you look at it, trust me.

This is one of those mods you cant undo. You cant just decide to buy a new diffuser because you dont like the look, because you have to mod the supporting structure. So this is one of those you just have to make your mind up before you do it.

Now at least, there's a good picture available of what it looks like when you're done, so it's a slightly less risky of a decision. Oh yeah, I've polished my exhaust now.. Well worth it!!

SSFury, I'm pretty happy with the results. I did a good job hiding my Mufflers (I sold them to Kroot Metal Recycling).
