You will essentially be eliminating the coils between the two coils the spacers sit on. You may get a tiny bit of spring effect from the spacers compressing but you will have a much stiffer suspension which will transfer alot more shock or force to the rest of the vehicle. This will not only resulting in an uncomfortable ride but potentially cause damage to other components. The harshness of bumps could potentially be comparable to the force of bottoming out the suspension on the bump stops (for example on an overloaded truck). Or at the very least how rough a 1 ton truck would feel over bumps when completely empty.
If you want a higher ride height I would suggest going with larger tires, I test fitted my winter set from my SS 245/50/20 on my ZL1 they fit with no issue, these are taller than the SS tires , also some people are running 275/40/20 up front with 315/35 on the rear on the ZL1's these tires are the same height as the stock ss tires. |

You're not going to damage anything. It may affect the handling a tiny bit. A lot of people on here spend to much time on the internet and not under cars.

Compared to some of the other answers, yours was "educated".
Anyway the stiffer ride does make a case for removing them. I'll just take them off.

I find that comment kind of ironic considering that we are the ones without our spacers on. Maybe you had a educated question that was already answered in your manual.

Kind of odd to hear the OP likes the raised look on his ZL1. On a Camaro, it seems as if most people like a lowered stance rather than a ride height similar to a Jeep Wrangler with a Skyjacker long-arm kit. Eh, whatever you like.

Better ground clearance. Doesn't scrape the front end over every driveway.

Relax, I'm taking them off.
Too much testosterone flowing in this forum. Thank you all for the info and insults.

Don't keep them in the springs.
