Mileage upon arrival at dealership

When your stingray arrives at the dealership, do they (salesman, mechanic, janitor

, etc.) test drive it before you get there? How many miles were on your Stingray when you picked it up at the dealership?

I am curious how hard the dealership guys really test drive it if you know what I mean.

Mine had 11 miles on it. The salesman said one of the mechanics at the dealership took it out for a test run. I didn't much like that but what can you do.

Mine had 60 miles on it upon R8C Museum Delivery, but that's with slightly unusual circumstances. As it was one of the very first Stingrays built, it was held over 4 weeks for very thorough QC inspections. Part of that included test drives. Extensive test driving is actually part of the QC process and a car is randomly selected periodically for such a drive.

Its common for a 3-4 miles to be on a new car depending on shipping procedures too. In my case, the warranty takes the miles into account and expiration is stated at 36060. My car at 23650 miles has also been virtually trouble-free, so a few extra miles up front doesn't bother me.

Mine had 6 miles total including a trip to the gas station by the dealer to fill the tank with premium.

Mine had 23 miles on it when it came off the car hauler. I was told that this was due to a factory QC check ride in Bowling Green.

We did the R8C Museum delivery and it had 4 miles on it when we picked it up.
674 miles and 10 hours later we made it home

Mine had a grand total of 4 miles on it (and that included the dealer driving it to gas station for her first fill-up).

8 months later she just turned 1800 miles.

Any more than about 5 miles and you can bet the dealership mechanic has had it out having fun. I would not take delivery if the car had more than 5 miles showing.

Not necessarily true. The assembly plant does random tests on some cars that includes several miles of road driving as part of the quality control process. Also, if a particular car gets shipped to the holding lot in Nashville, it will have more than 5 miles on the odometer. The big thing is make sure your dealer has that extra mileage added to your warranty term. As I mentioned, my dealer filled out the paperwork listing my warranty good through 36060 miles.
