Yes, you need them, or wires will burn. just do a search, buy some good ones.
Also you can remove the coil cover. Move the coil wire boot back to pull the wire further away from the header tube.

Prolly the second, the first seems to be a whole roll and you cut to fit.

Heatsheild products has a good set.. I've had mine on for over a year no problems. Side note: make sure you have cut loose and re ziptied wire harness under coolant tank... that's a major problem waiting to happen If not.

Got about 10k miles on 2" tsp headers with factory wires and no sleeves. No issues. Not 100% any of that stuff is actually needed...

Peace of mind has a price...It's evidently only $60 or so, lol. I will run them when I get headers.

Good to know, especially for those that choose not to spend the $$ on sleeves, but on other things.

However, I feel it's kind of like Flood, Hurricane, Fire etc. insurance.
Not a 100% needed, but good to have when you do need it.
For me, I'd rather be safe than sorry even if we're only talking spark plug wires.

My Kooks will be coated as well for that extra Heat insurance.

Very interesting this jus happened to my boys SS. The #5 plug wire seem to be the only close to the Kooks headers. He purchased one sleeve after he fried his with a boot sleeve from advanced Auto for 12.99
