Technical 6 speed manual questions

I searched and I'm sorry if this has been covered, but are the 6 speed manuals on the ZL1s twin disc? Also are the internal transmission gear ratios posted somewhere to 1-6? I know about the 3.73 rear end gears, but just wanted if anyone knew about the other details. Thanks

For what it's worth - ZL1 1LEs are identical to ZL1s in terms of transmission, with one exception: 6th gear was changed from .54:1 to .68:1

Are you sure? First gear is a lot more difficult to engage in the ZL1 1LE vs the ZL1 M6.

Yes.

Not sure why that is, haven't driving a standard ZL1 M6, myself so I can't speak to that.

I havent looked into it, but when the ZL1's were first introduced in 17 they touted that the manual cars would hit 60 in 1st gear, but im not getting that out of my car.

Because your wheel/tire ratio is smaller. The overall effective ratio is reduced by about 2%, but first gear is still 2.29:1. I'll double check, but I'm 99.99% sure only 6th gear was changed.

EDIT: All I've found so far is a note in the press release that the car has a "6 speed manual tarnsmission standard (with a 1LE-specific top gear ratio)".

I didnt think about that; that would most likely make the difference I am seeing, its about a 5 mph difference.

Twin disc! Cool. Mine hits 60-61 right at the rev limiter in 1st. From PDR video at a local autocross. Speed was corroborated by my data recorder.
