GM's Answer to Memory Seat Issue (M7)

Got an answer back from Marissa at Chevy Customer Service to my question about the memory seat button issue for cars with M7 transmissions:

" "Is GM going to work on a fix?"

With this model year there will not be a "fix" or an update, as it is working as designed. There (sic) We can certainly take your feedback into consideration for future models.

Marissa
Chevrolet Customer Care"

So it looks like those of us with M7 trans are stuck with the system as it is.

ISSUE: With the M7, if you get in the car, it will not automatically go to your programmed seat position. You can press and hold the button until it gets to your position and then start your car or you can start the car and then momentarily press the button and it will move to the programmed position on its own. The system seems to work automatically in the auto trans cars only.

That issue isn't just with manuals.
I have an automatic and it was doing the same thing.
I just kept on reprogramming it and finally it seems to have stuck and works appropriately. At first it would recall the setting once or twice, and then revert back to factory setting, but it seems to be working consistently now. I've had to reprogram it about 5 times before it finally took.

It would be nice to have a real fix.

I am confused.

If the way the C6 seats worked was fine, why did they change the logic?

And now that we have pointed out the logic is bad, they don't want to change it. Saying it works as designed, tells me there is something else going on. Was there a safety issue with the seat going back uncontrolled and injuring someone?

I have a C7 A6 and all works well, as I remember my 08 Z06 or for that matter C6 manuals always operated as your problem describes, in essence automatic recall on start only works on automatics, manuals you have to initiate it after start. I do not recall how it was in the C5 but only had 2 of them and they were autos.
