My previous car was a 2016 Ecoboost Mustang. With a tune and basic bolt-ons they make about 340whp and 380-90 tq. Mine was definitely faster than my Camaro, but the chassis is way better in the Camaro. I won't be surprised if GM axes the V6 the same way Ford did.

Good read and conversation!
I would think its somewhere near the Focus RS levels at this point. That is fundamentally the same engine and its got "only" 40 more horses.

I have heard that Ford was having issues certifying the 2.3 past that power level, but that might have been due to drivetrain limitations in the Focus which wouldn't necessarily apply to the Mustang.

Either way, if the EB stang came with the 350/350 RS tune from the factory, I'd think you're right that GM wouldn't have much choice. V6 is pegged as it is in N/A form, the only way its going past those levels is with two turbos a la ATS-V, which would be cool but then you're getting into LT1 territory.

That leaves the LTG, but I just don't see it being competitive without a displacement increase, which would affect all the other platforms (e.g. ATS, Malibu, etc.)

GM's only option is to either do nothing or obsolete their V6 as well and put a larger displacement boosted 4 into production. The 3.0TT would require additional cost from the powertrain and other hardware (and higher warranty costs) and significant engineering compared to a higher displacement boosted 4 using the same external dimensions/casting geometry and an intercooler upgrade and the factory aux cooling as standard to make work.

Either way no matter what Ford gets at minimum a year of sales before GM can respond.

So I had the pleasure of talking to some of the lead engineers and one in particular who worked on the LTG at CamaroFest 7 parking lot party with darknightmaro. They had a lot of interest in my Charge Pipe from JacFab but they said nothing is coming out anytime soon outside of the possible AutoX concept right before the refresh. He also stated 95% of the AutoX Concept parts are already available except for the color and the seats directly from the Accessory Catalog. They did recognize that the LTG platform was a bigger success then they thought it would be and understood why it was given the limitations of the V6 when it comes to HP/TQ to $$$ although they loved the two 10s 1/4 mile runs from the two big 5th Gen V6 guys but both of those cars broke on that run. Long story short your not going to see your crazy GM factory upgrade packages until after the refresh in 2019 if at all. So your better off using the well established aftermarket for our cars which with time will only get bigger and more in-depth.

I get what your saying but they don't announce every single option at the beginning and i did hear a few late model year 2018 editions could be coming much like the 5th Gens had the Hot Wheels, and Green Flash editions out for a few quarters then ended. Will their be any 2.0T love no one could confirm or deny during the Q&A myself and darknightmaro had with the engineers.

Concerning the AutoX concept, I noticed it did not have the performance intake on it at the fest from pics I saw. I would have asked somebody from Chevy about that.

Nope. And your not likely to see the intake until late 2018 they haven't even started initial development despite what rumors and reports online have said.

Interesting since there is a part number already.

I know that question was asked as well. They told us that we'll be waiting awhile for the intake possibly. Not sure why but look how long it took just to get the V8 intake out and then it was just a CAI Inc. Rebrand.

My 2016 was used as the mule, so my guess is they are far past initial development.

For CAI Inc. yes although we all know that got left on the backburner and they were mute on info. at camarofest 7 when asked.

GM didn't use the 6th Gen V6 CAI Inc. design so it's unclear on what GM will put out and so far no real word on when.

The last time they had it for three days, four including Friday morning which was when it was returned. Developing Intakes that function as intended appears to be trickier than one would think I remember ZZP needed a similar amount of time to develop their second version Intake for the Sonic and they did not need GM Engineer Validation.

I am looking for the first production unit to be installed around the middle of August.
