Tire Size Recommendations - 20/9 Front & 20/10 Rear

I recently got new rims and do not like how the factory tire sizes sit on the rims. I have a 2013 2LT RS, which had 20/8 in front (245s) and 20/9 in rear (275).

New rims are 20/9 in front and 20/10 in rear. I feel like the tires are "stretch" and edges rolled. See pics.

Would it be better to run 275s in front and 305s in the rear to fill out the rims and give it a more squared edge of the tires?.....

Love the new wheels, just not happy at all with how the tires setup on them.

Thanks for the recommendations!

275s in front, 295s in rear.

275/40/20, and 295/35/20.

I can do the 275/40/20s in the front, as that is what I've got on the back end now.

Would 285/35/20 be ok for the rear? The price is considerably more, and options much less, for the 295/35/20s and 305/35/20s sizes.

Or...would 295/30/20 be an option? Once again, there are more options and pricing variance.

285s should be fine, I think that's what the 1LE's run.

I couldn't stand the look of the 245 and 275 set up on the new wheels. So after much research and suggestions on this forum (thanks guys!) I got new, larger shoes today. Went with 275 in front, 305 in rear. Nitto 555 G2s. Love the look now! It's what I was after all along. And after driving around just today, I am encouraged with the performance and ride quality.

I have the same rims. 275/305 is the largest recommend for those rims. That's what I'm running. They look great and fill up the wheel house perfectly.

I'm with ya, FlyingBannana. I love the z28 rims but really wanted chrome. Searching the forums I found your car a number of times and knew it was what I was after.

I went with OE Creations. If I recall, yours are Factory Reproductions?.. There is some slight differences. I hope the OE Creations have the same quality as the FR.

Glad to know you have had good luck with the tire size.

Same here. I love chrome and on the right car, it really sets the car off. Mine are factory repos, yes. A word of advice in case it's your first set of chrome and you DD the car..... use your factory rims in the winter. Road salt will pit and peel your chrome if you use them in winter. I also put a sealer on mine so brake dust washes off with just water.

That is great advice! Thank you. It is a DD during the summer, but I did store for the winter. But fall and spring there will certainly be residual salt on roads, so sealing is definitely something I am going to look in to. Thanks!

Hey Guys great thread I know its a year old hopefully your all still on the forum have some questions. I am changing out the 22" currently on my 2012 SLP the prior owner installed and bringing it back to the Original SLP wheels which are rare 20x9 / 20x10 the normal wheel was 20x8 / 20x9.

JUSTJOSHIN question - Interesting the 275/40 on the Front - have you found any issue of rubbing, what is your front wheel offset mine is a 33 Offset Front. My car is lowered 1" is your car lowered?

ETLREAMS question - Your 305s look a bit like they are sticking past the wheel lip what is your Offset? My wheels on the rear are 37 Offset and lowered 1 inch. Do you have any rubbing?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You wont have any rubbing with the setup your looking at. I have the 20x9 +27 20x10 +33 on a 275 front and a 315 rear. I dont rub and wouldnt if lowered an inch either.
