Z28 review from a friend + bonus video about track day at The Ridge (WA)

Hello folks,

here's a video review that a friend of mine made of the Z/28. When you hear him referring to other cars, he's referring to his other cars. It's an opinion of an owner, not something he read online. you can check his channel(s) to see what I mean.

As bonus content, a video from an infinitely less skilled driver: me.
Here's my second track day, I've got promoted to intermediate group... beginners lap around 2:10 - 2:15 , intermediate around 2 mins and advanced/instructors are around 1:40-1:50 (it really depends on car and tires).

I've lapped with 340 threadwear tires, so I was not expecting anything special, but the Z/28 is so fast that I was able to lap multiple times below 2 mins. Here's the fastest lap. This track was amazing!

Having done many, many trackdays the driver is always the biggest difference, I remember being on track with a 75 y/o ex F1 driver, no-one could get within 10 seconds of what he was lapping regardless of what they were driving.

If you havent already Id definitely recommend some driver training, makes a huge difference - as a starter for 10, youve got another 1000rpm before the redline, its the fastest 1000rpm too

I’m no “professional race car driver” but I’d say you did pretty dammed good. You weren’t scared of the car’s capabilities and that’s a plus . What tires you ran with 320 TW Michelin or Conti’s
Edit: I blew up pic saw they were Michelin ps4

they are continental pro contact 7 or something like that. they are ok, nothing special.
I did trackdays looooong time ago, it seems like I haven't entirely forgotten how to drive

the z/28 is super easy (at least it seems to me) so I am not too worried to push it.

these events are with instructor. I've done my fair share or theory in my youth. I need to get driving hours now

as for the last 1000, that's true but:
1/ the Z/28 doesn't pull hard in last 1000 (in stock form) and it has so much torque that it doesn't really make a difference
2/ I was not trying to break the lap record of track

I enjoyed the video review, I'm still struggling to understand why the Z/28 isn't more popular with track rats, a low mileage Z/28 is now one quarter of the price compared to a 997.x GT3.

I've driven the 997.1 GT3 and it may be one of the best cars I've ever driven but it's not 4x better than the Z/28.

Forget about 911s, not even comparable to Ms/Shelbys. I don't get it as well. People sleeping on Z somehow.

Love my Z so I'm good.
