I’m halfway through the process right now. Getting $1000 more than I bought it for new in 2017! I’ll take the loot and wait a bit, then put it towards a newer loaded 2SS 6M.

@GearheadSS, this is in line with what you mentioned a couple of weeks ago, yeah? i.e. it was already the plan to just reopen this week for limited production, wasn’t it?

Yes, we already knew this schedule with the limited, quick production time at the beginning of May and then starting back up the 28th of June.

In the week it was open, what is the guess on the number of Camaros that were competed? Assuming many of them where already built and just waiting for the semi conductors.

None of the Camaros(or Cadillacs for that matter) that were built and waiting on parts had any movement. Those cars will not get any movement until sometime in July at the earliest.

I wonder how much that strike is really costing GM!?

There was be a lot less quantity of GM vehicles in the lots due to the strike after being shut down for months followed by the biggest boom in car sales seen in years. The lack of chips means there is no catching up on all the lost revenue...

At this rate, it's impossible to believe the Camaro will live after 2023.

Sad thing is the cars that dealers are getting, they are also taking advantage of the shortage and marking up prices.

Even with these inflated prices, the 5 1LEs in my area haven’t moved in over 2 months. I’m almost tempted to heavily undercut all 5 by about $10k and will still make $5 over my purchase price last year.

Bingo! You/we are one of the few who think like this. It's a high market right now, just slow down and wait a little bit and you'll be much better off.

It is just too good to pass up! When I bought back in 2017, and wanted new, I bought what was in my budget. That was a 1SS with the NPP(my non negotiable). I also bought the A8, because I knew I may have to drive it a lot, in traffic. Within a year after buying it, a bunch of things went well financially. I was able to pay it off fully in 2019, and buy a great daily driver(Loaded Grand Cherokee with the Hemi, one owner 2011 with 76K on it). Since then, I’ve been craving the 6M and a 2SS. Once I heard the prices were skyrocketing in the used market for Camaros, I knew this might be enough to sway me to pull the trigger. Having a fully paid off, extremely low mileage Camaro was holding me back at first. Then, I got offered $1,000 more than I paid for it new. I pulled the trigger. I know the only way this works out the right way, though, is to wait until the prices come back down to earth, before buying my 2SS. 😎
