GM Claims Lowest Priced Hybrid

GM Claims Lowest Priced Hybrid
The Daily Auto Insider
Tuesday, March 20, 2007

General Motors contends that the newly launched hybrid version of its Saturn Aura sedan — which qualifies for a $1,300 tax credit — is the lowest-priced hybrid in the U.S. market, Dow Jones Newswires reported.

"With a starting price over $2,000 less than any midsize hybrid sedan and a $1,300 tax credit, it makes true hybrid fuel savings available to more people than ever before," Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak said in a press release.

The $22,695 Aura Green Line is among the first of several hybrid-electric vehicles GM plans to introduce; it launched the Saturn Vue "Green Line" SUV during the second half of 2006 and later this year will launch a hybrid version of its higher-volume Chevrolet Malibu and full-size SUVs, the story said.
