2017 zl1 reving up by itself
last week I was leaving work and was kinda pulling forward slowly working the clutch and giving the car a little throttle and then all of the sudden I had the clutch engage and my foot off the throttle and the car revved up to around 4k rpm by itself ,then yesterday it did the same thing after I picked up my son from school same thing I was working the clutch and pulling forward because of traffic and it did it again and then today did the same thing ,I checked the accelerator pedal its all good there is nothing pushing it or in the way what could be causing this the car only has 1,800 miles?

Probably a bad TPS. If it is doing it enough then take it in and the dealer should be able to fix it.

I would think that a bad tps would throw a cel. Do you notice it with rev matching on and off? Definitely take it to dealer asap hopefully they can replicate it, you should try to record it if possible so you have proof. Bummer man hope they get it taken care of for you!

Could you have had rev matching enabled?

Was the motor warm, or did you jump in and go? My car will accelerate on its own pretty hard if I just hop in and go. I made a topic about it on my SS when I first got the car.

Why would rev match cause it to rev up when trying to pull out? Isn't it supposed to match engine revs with the speed of the vehicle (which would be near zero for his instance), the gear you're in, and the gear you're shifting to? The only time it should rev the engine is when downshifting to a lower gear and it should rev it to the RPM that the new gear would need for the current speed. Not saying it's not a possible cause. Just don't understand why it would be.

Agreed, I was asking because if it was only doing it when it was on maybe the rev matching was malfunctioning?

My guess is active rev match causing the problem. But, ARM is off by default at start up from what I read.

Correct. It is off by default and must be turned on.

Wow, I thought I was crazy when it happened to me... Wow.
I actually had this happen to me at the greatest time a few weeks ago. I had just grabbed my food from the window at a Chik-fil-A drive through, and I pulled forward slightly and then depressed the clutch to slow down stop again... The damn thing revved steadily to 4k-5k or more. I pulled it out of gear and released the clutch and a few other things in that split second it couple seconds. Not sure what finally made it normalize because it was honestly VERY damn stressful. It was a crowded lunch time and they had the employee out directing the loop around the building... So yeah, it was quite the spectacle surrounded by other cars, folks walking around and a handful of employees out there too. Pretty damn embarrassing actually. It happened that once and hasn't happened since, but I hope it doesn't happen again. Seems like a pretty dangerous thing that the car has the potential to revv like that... Imagine the horrors depending on the scenario... a lot of potential for someone to get hurt, the car to get hurt... Damn. I would love to know what the issue is here, and I'm certain that this cannot be replicated in front of the dealer's service department...
