As nice as it looks I think chrome would be nicer. It seems like the black wheels are a fad that is starting to fade

I had a C5 wheels ALWAYS dirty looking with silver, I hope to save some time not shining the wheels as often and enjoying the time driving instead!

I got cyber grey, black rims red callipers and red interior. And DAMN this car looks MEAN!!!!

I prefer black rims with red/yellow calipers, black rims with black calipers kinda becomes a blur from a distance in my opinion.

jsherm007 nice looking car. I went with black/black rims/red calipers. I have black interior but kinda wish I would have gone red. I contemplated the cyber but I already have a "gray" BMW so wanted something different. As stated many times in this thread it really is personal preference.

I realize it's just a personal preference, but it seems to be very popular. I personally don't get it. Maybe it's an age thing? I'm 66 and ordered chrome, but my 30 year old son thinks the blacked out wheels look "gangsta". I'm too old to be that trendy.

I know we all love this car for its performance capabilities so black wheels or chrome for that matter don't help, so it must just be for the "look". I haven't looked at a lot of performance cars, i.e., Porsche, Mercedes, Bugatti, etc. so can someone that owns them tell me if they got black wheels on them?

Maybe some of you guys, or girls, can chime in and shed some light on this issue as to why you got them and what age bracket you're in. That would be interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't want to ruffle any feathers, I'm just saying to each his own, but they aren't gonna be on my C7. Either way I know we all are going to be enjoying them.
I got black wheels on my Camaro ZL1 because it just fit the look and attitude of the car. However, after my first car show with it spending 45 minutes cleaning them, I was sorry I got them. They showed dirt, dust, and the slightest scratches.

Never again will I have black rims.

I ordered chrome for my C7 because the car has an attitude, but is still classy enough for chrome.

1stCorvette,

Us "oldtimers" remember when chrome was a big deal with chrome on bumpers, grilles, mirrors and the chrome wheels (called rims) were a big plus to trick out your car.
Well, with higher gas prices, the need for more efficiency killed the heavy metal car of our time and the chrome went with it. Not much need for chrome wheels if your car didn't have any chrome on it!

Enter the era of the black car. The VIP look driven by dignitaries, secret service, limos, etc. Nearly every BMW or Mercedes was black for a while...lol.
Then the public got the idea and started ordering the black for their cars; they wanted to have that VIP look.
As was said, just like the chrome wheels of our time completed the car, the black wheels of this time, complete the cars look.
Be it the VIP look, aggressive look, the stealth look, etc, black just does it.

I think it is trendy, and you will see a change over time, so go with what works for you.
