Auto Transport
Has anyone here transported their car (especially Camaro) with Direct Express Auto Transport or perhaps another company? We're moving from NC to AZ and thinking of transporting my 2010. What do you think? A good or bad idea?

If you have the time, get the Camaro ride. May be a life time experience.

Fed EX Transport
Thanks for the info. I would never have thought of Fed Ex. In checking this link however, I find they want more than twice as much as Direct Express.

Uhaul rents auto transports and tow dollys. That way you can keep an eye on your camaro yourself. I don't trust to many people.

If I were moving, I'd just drive it myself....and I'd try to stay away from the interstates.

We use 24-7 Auto Transport for all our transporting needs. We have used them coast-to-coast and I know they have pretty reasonable rates.
(800) 247-2478 is their number Please feel free to tell them you are a Friend of the General Manager, Robert Ross of Infiniti of Pleasanton. It may get you a bit of a discount. |

What about if you just want to transport your camaro locally? I don't want to just flat bed it to an auto show.

Horseless Carriage transported my 1964 Corvette from NJ to The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY with zero issues.

Call a local dealer to see whom they use...
They aren't likely to give repeat business if the service and prices are lousy. |

I've used DEXAT once and I wasn't really pleased. The service people were actually pretty rude and they were about 10% more expensive than almost every other company that I got quotes from. They did pick up the car on time, which was a plus, but again they were quite nasty and really not willing to negotiate at all.
There are TONS of auto transport companies out there. I think a lot of people go with Direct Express because they come up first on google, but in reality they kind of suck. A friend recommended American Auto Transport to me a while back and they were pretty solid. One of the cheaper companies, but they did a better job than DAS imo so I can't complain. |
