Exclamation Reverse lights always on

I was driving home tonight and a buddy pulled up beside me and told me my white reverse lights were on. He used to be a cop, and said any white lights on the rear (besides while reversing and license plate) are illegal. I got home and set it in neutral and looked myself and they were on. I had my wife watch as i shifted into and out of reverse, and there was not difference in the light, it stayed on full blast the whole time. I am assuming this is not how they are supposed to work?
Is there a wiring problem?
On a side note, I have not seen my fog lights (DRL as I have the RS package) come on. I am thinking there is a wiring problem.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Reverse Lights

I have not had this problem nor has anyone I know had this problem with their lights.

Take it to your dealer, obviously it's a warranty issue.

Please post what the dealer discovers with your lights. Good Luck.

Reverse switch is defective or disconnected.

Why did they order the ECM ?? The backup lamps are controlled by the BCM.

Edit: Nevermind. I just remembered that the signal goes through the TCM first (the TCM is part of the ECM)

Well, its been 6 weeks or so.. and no contact from the dealer. I called yesterday to see what the hold up was, and the dealer was still waiting on one of the parts (ECM). Then they called me back last night and said I needed to bring in my car so they can answer some questions (guessing to check for mods and the ECM for a tune). In the process of this 6 week wait, i took my car to another dealer who also told me I needed a new ECM. They were ready to fill out the GM questionnaire and asked me if I had any mods. I told them only catback and springs. I then let them know I had an open order w/ another dealer. They told me that it would be better if I didn't open another order w/ them.
Now I find out the first dealer is only now asking me to bring in the car so they can fill out this "questionnaire". I am not liking this dealer. I hope they do not give me any warranty bullshit because of the cat back/springs!
So I guess I have to wait a little longer for the new ECM so that I may drive with out reverse lights on! Will keep this updated.

The ECM is on a "restriction" from Bosch. More then likely they need the numbers off the lable that is on the ECM. I know this because I had to go through this with them a few weeks ago on a Camaro I was working on.

If it is still doing, try to disconnect the battery for 10 mins to allow the ECM and BCM to reset and do a cold boot.

took it in.. and they went through the diagnosis to order the ECM. I guess during the process they replaced the reverse switch and all is fixed. no need for a new ECM.

Im having this exact problem with my 2011 SS. Reverse lights start flickering on/off after 15-20 min of driving. Brought it to the dealer and they replaced the back up switch, got home and the reverse lights are on again, no flickering though.

Mine never flickered, just stayed on. Replacing the backup switch fixed the problem. Since you have a new one of those, I am not sure.
