Saw this at the Factory Fest, never thought it was blue anything, looked VERY silver to me... A bit of a fail.

Arctic Blue is a very pale, silvery blue. The convertible in the OP accurately captures what it looked like.

Designer here. Grays and Silvers can be either warm (towards red) or cool (towards blue).

This is a silver paint job in the cool family. I would not have put blue in the paint name.

My 45th anniversary Camaro paint is called 'Carbon Flash.'

Most people think it's black. For a reason. It's black plus metallic flakes.

I've seen this blue and the silver next to each other, too. VERY hard to tell the difference unless you really look at it.

Should've brought that green in that's on the 1LE LT.

Nice color, on a new Malibu or Cruze.... not on a 650hp Camaro.

Seriously, why no Krypton Green or something similar. This is a nice color but it's boring. There is always 2 silvers, blacks, reds, blues, etc. Take a page from Dodge and release some interesting colors.

Still can't believe no Hugger Orange for the 50th anniversary as well. God forbid they make a production color people get excited about.

This color just goes to prove that GM is trying to move away from the Muscle car and heritage of the originals. Hugger orange would pull them in a direction they don't want to go. If the want to complete with BMW and the folks that buy them, they need these utterly boring and disgusting colors in their line up. What cracks me up is that BMW is trying to fit more of an American mold these days. Lol

I spoke with Al about this. The fact that they share the plant with Cadillac is a factor. There aren't too many Cadillac owners that want a green Cad. Yellow already takes up a spot that Cadillac has yet to adopt. Go figure. Secondly there are a maximum number of paint colors they can run on the line so adding a color means essentially dropping something else. Al also said the robots have to be purged with solvent any time a color change is done so if they used a limited color like green it adds to the overall cost and time each instance that is done. The decision to run a color for a full year or half a year requires some forecasting and while he understands the demand may be there he did say that the designers who were present during the Factoryfest do take back the feedback when considering whether to do that in the future. Oh and one other thing the green Camaro is too popular and they would sell more cars which is not what they are trying to do.

Heaven forbid that we sell one too many Camaros. That would be bad business.
