Some questions
I finally got the green light to purchase my ZL1 this year. I have been on this forum for a few years but just got back to it from a couple of months away. Can someone tell me the pros/cons of convert vs hard top and m6 vs a6? The rest of my build will be nav, ecf insert and sunroof if i get the hardtop.

Pretty much depends on what your main goals are. The convertible has a lower limited top speed. I don't know if the convertible has the lower deck pan. The A6 is faster 0 to 60 and maybe better for drags. I know one of the cars doesn't have all of the track settings. That is just some of the stuff. I have an M6 and love it. Wouldn't want to sit in a lot of traffic with it but extremely easy to drive around town. The one thing that drives me nuts is the hill assist. You get used to it but it kicks in some times when you don't expect it to.

A6 if you care about getting the best/most consistent drag race times.
M6 if you are more of a racetrack/autocross guy. A6 if you are someone who drives in day to day traffic and would find shifting your own gears tiresome. M6 if you value more driver interaction and being challenged every time you drive. The couple is structurally more rigid and lighter, and will therefore be faster in a straight line and at the track. That said, this model of convertible does not suffer from the typical large performance gap with the coupe. The Vert is gorgeous, but costs more. Personally I don't find shifting in traffic too taxing and I drive in DC traffic every day.

Thanks guys, looks like it is a coupe for me with a sunroof. Are the recaro seats worth the 2k?

They are worth it if you plan to track the car. If you don't, I've found the stock seats to be very good. I'm also a big guy so I find Recaros to be too restrictive.

I have a hardtop A6 and live in Dallas, I orginally was going to go for the M6 but decided to go with Auto due to the fact I was moving here from Omaha. My last car was a 1LE which was fun in a smaller city, but in Dallas traffic, I knew I would get tired of it. I miss the manual but the Auto + 580HP makes it extremely fun.
I do not like convertables, so my opinion does not count for that.

It would be worth it to me regardless I'll trade you seats and give cash if you get the recaro seats.
