When's the next "anniversary" year? 65th Anniversary in 2018?
I imagine the Indy Pace Car edition will happen before that

its a no brainer. The secial edition or z06 should be the transformers version. If it ever comes out I will sell the c7 that I'm getting.

So really there has been no consistency in number of model years per generation. It only adds up to 59 years because there was no 83 model.

I think it will be a solid 8 years, GM does a pretty good job at updating the car throughout it's models. C6 got a transmission upgrade in 2006, engine upgrade in 2007, ZR1 in 2009, Grandsport I believe came out in 2010/2011.

well there was some talk that because of CAFE the C7 might have a shorter life cycle if they decide to go to a smaller car with a v6.

The CAFE requirements are spread over the entire lineup of the company. I can't see the Corvette being that much of a hinderance to GM's CAFE number, at least not nearly as much as the trucks. If they continue to sell 15-30k cars a year, that is less than 1/3 of the Camaro sales, so if a car was going to take the hit, it should be a Camaro, not the flagship of the company.
