I had a 64 1/2 mustang (no rolled front hood lip, registered as 64, etc..) and a 84 Mustang GT.... But I wanted a Camaro.
So I got an 85 Transam, and 87 Transam, then had kiddo's. But, it all started in 1969. I was just old enough to care about cars. My dad was driving burple (not misspelled) Plymouth with a nice little six cylinder in it. He also was driving a 55 pick up truck that had a few interesting quirks like starting itself in the middle of the night. My dad wanted to replace both so out to the care lots we went. Sitting in the back of a lot in Bremerton, Wa was a nearly new 1967 RS, 327 CI, 4 speed rock crusher, black on black, Camaro. My dad told me later that two years old it only had about 1500 miles on the clock. He asked the salesman how much, countered like $1000 less (the guy was looking for a new price), and the salesman said no. So we walked out. In fact we made it to the door of the sales floor before the guy said "fine", "OK". My dad walked back pulled out his wallet and started counting cash onto the stunned guys desk. The burple went to a buddy of my dad's and the truck went to a neighbor. The Camaro went into the garage and was driven daily and for fun. For nearly 15 years. Washed and waxed every other weekend, never driven in the snow, always taken perfect care of (we used to burn the engine oil in our garage oil stove!!!). I learned about manual transmissions in that car mimicking my dad. I learned how to clay bar, rub, and wax on that black on black car. My dad sold it in the 80's and the new owner wrecked it after only three months of ownership. That's when I started buying Mustangs and Pontiac's instead of Camaro's. I think I might be ready again to buy something I've always considered to be linked to the saddest days of my life. Seeing that car we took so good care of wadded up on trailer going to the crusher was horrible. I'm going to buy a 4th gen convertible because I have this dream of driving with my youngest (twin boys) in the back seat hands overhead screaming like they are on a roller coaster ride as I rock through the gears. |

my first and only camaro is an emerald green metalic 68 rs with a 327 which I bought back in the summer of 89' and I still have it, and don't plan to get rid of it. I'm definately getting a 5th gen. but my problem is going to be how can I keep both cars. I don't have a garage.

I was 15 years old when I bought my first camaro, it was a 1982 Camaro with a V6 that would not get out of it's own way. A beautiful burgundy paint carressed the exterior and red splashed on the interior. I had the big fat Grager SS wheels and raised white letter tires on the rear with it all jacked up. Damn those were the days. I bet that car woud be worth a little money now. Rock on 80's hair bands.

I always wanted a V-8 Camaro as a kid, but there was no way my mom would EVER let me have one. I was so determined I bet her $500 I would have a V-8 Camaro before I was 18. Then, 2 weeks before my 16th birthday I went to the dealership with my dad to look for a 91/92 RS and we saw this beautiful '87 Iroc. We test drove it and the power caught him off guard as we went fishtailing out of the dealership onto the street. I was startled and scared for a moment then I looked over to my dad and with a grin on his face he says "we're getting this car." My mom eventually forgave him, but she still owes me $500 Now I have my '93 Z28, so only 2 for me.

Good story! My dad never wanted me in a fast car. I took him for a drive years down the road after my many vehicles. We took a spin in the Z28 scratching the tires in 3rd and the look on his face was priceless! Later, when I got my SS, he came into town and wanted to see the new beauty. I offered him a drive around the block and he kindly declined... I think he was a little worried I'd get that heavy foot again. |

My first Camaro was a new 1967 RS that I bought when I was 18, I then bought a new 69 Z/28 when I was twenty. I still miss that Z and am looking forward to the 2009 version.

My first Camaro is the car I still drive today.
2001 Camaro, bought her when I was 19, she's a V6 but at the time all I could afford. just joined the military, and insurance for a LS1 at the age of 19 was outrageous. Thought long and hard about swapping engines for a V8...but when they announced the 5 gen Camaro is due to come out soon, I started building up my V6, and saving for the new camaro...now Im 23 with a family, and the wife is trying to get me into some import family sized car...but she knows that Ill never get rid of my Camaro dispite the fact that its a V6. |

In my sig.
I guess a bit of background. Got the 1991 vert in 1999 when I was 19, buuuut ended up finding out we were having a baby. Sold it in fall of 2000. Had the family car till divorced, then almost bought a 4th gen SS, but fell in love with a 1994 TT Supra M6 instead. Had a ton of fun with that beast, but ended up getting re-married to my ex-wife (doh!) and selling it. Got bored without a fun car, so scrapped up enough to get the '89 IROC vert I have now (bought in '04), but she had a bunch of issues (still does) and surprisingly (sarcasm), the re-marriage didn't work out, so I had a expensive divorce to pay for...so still she sits waiting for some loving. |

I think I was 15 or 16 when I got my first Camaro, was my Uncles 79 Berlinetta T-top had a 350 in it. Baby blue. Unfortunately at the age of 28 he died from Cancer so we never got the title straightened out and ended up selling the car. I wanted to make a drag car out of it in memory of him. Young age and family disputes lead to selling the car. A few months later I bought a cherry red 79 Z-28. Should have kept it but sold after a lot of work and bought a black 82 Z-28. Sold that one about a year and a lot of money later so I could move. Then bought a 79 Firebird Formula t-top baby blue. Then at 21 I bought my current 95 Camaro. Last year at 22 We bought my wifes current project, a White 82 Z-28. Her first Camaro. She told me from day one when we met that she wanted a 3rd gen Maro... lucky me Then this year getting ready to turn 23 and bought the 94 Z-28. This ones going to be my baby. going all the way through it and going to be better than new when Im done. same for her 82 when its done. The 95 will be tubbed and big blocked for a pro streeter when the 94 is done. We will be buying at least one Black 09. I've had around 70 cars since I was 12, worked my ass off to get them, fix them up and sold more than I should have, but I always keep comin back to Camaros, and Will always own one now that life is stable and Im a little older/ somewhat wiser. lol.
