Should I buy the Indy 500 or not?

Hi All

I hope you can advise me, I'm getting a offered a deal here in Canada of an Indy 500 for $43,000 + GST (makes it $45150).

Can you tell me if you think that's good? Is it worth it? Or should I buy myself a nice spec'd Camaro instead?

Thanks

Id personally say get a better spec'ed camaro. I do like the looks of the Indi car though.

The premium is just too high.

What's better than a 2SS?????

I would totally buy it! In total GM only built 295 Pace Cars. 45 went to the race, 50 to Canada, and 200 in the US. If it was me though, I would take off the giant door decals and then just buy another set from the parts department for when you re-sell it.

I heard that some pace cars were available in Canada with the 6-speed manual transmission??? If that's true, and the one you're considering has it, I'd say hell yeah, buy it!!!

Buy it and resell it a bit later. You can buy a new '11 SS loaded for less. I'm not feeling all the stickers on it..

Well depends, if you want it for a weekend kinda car then sure. Daily Driver go with a fully loaded one instead....but if it were me I would either way get a fully loaded camaro than a Indy pace car, cause you dont wanna be that "one guy" with the pace car...

Man, I'd love to be that "one guy" with the pace car!!! (but only if it were a 6-speed manual).

Don't be a pace car guy. I hate to say it but "Pace Car Guy" comes with a stigma. I don't really subscribe to it but you'll take a fair amount of eye rolls. Get something personalized and tasteful. Pace car is loud and screams "LOOK AT ME!"

I definitely am not trying to rain on your parade. Its a bitchin' car.

Huh? This one's a manual - i'm pretty sure it was anyway - I'll check and post back!

No no, I don't want to be that 'pace car guy' lol but I was quoted $46 for a decent spec camaro so it's making sense to buy the pace car.... is 46 high?

I'm in Alberta jagan323 ....and it's the bright orange:-)
