Collector Edition Camaro Thread for Non-Buyers

Rather than side-track Gearhead's very informative thread https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=616689 (that should be made a Sticky at some point}, I thought I'd leave that one alone for

the serious prospective buyers who want to get real info on the Collector Edition and who may actually buy one. I know I won't be one of them for many reasons in general.

To that end I thought I'd try this thread for those who want to gripe, bash, criticize or otherwise state their opinion about what we know so far about the Collector Edition.

So here goes....I think matte black is a mistake...(I can't recall ever seeing a matte black finish Camaro anywhere here on the forums)...maybe there are some...

Secondly IMO the ZL1-1LE is the top dog Camaro and should be the final tribute Collector Edition car for the last of them.

A unique color IMO doesn't make it all that collectable by itself, especially in multiple trim levels...

So far, no power bump or performance enhancements of any kind to set the Collector Edition apart.

Just sayin'....

It's a huge fail if you ask me. A black Camaro? (matte or not). With red calipers? Can't you already today get a black Camero with red calipers...oh wait... it's not called "Panther Black"... lol

I wouldn't pay a premium for a Collector Edition if I could get a 1LE model for even less money...

I’m curious to see the Panther Black Metallic, regular Black has been running since 2016 and they removed Mosaic Black Metallic in 2020 but I never saw too heavy of a difference between the two. (Not enough to differentiate them from a far)

It may look a bit different... but like you said, don't think it will be anything significant. Guess we'll see. Just think gm could have done something better. Matte paint sucks. I have Matte black paint on my Harley and I'd never get it again.

It really doesn't matter if it sucks or not because there will be so few of them made that they will all be garage queens. None of them will really be driven. You can't really look at that color and use daily driven logic behind it.

I don't love matte black either but I totally get why they chose it. It fits perfectly with the Panther theme and imo, is perfect for this car since it was going to be called Panther originally. I don't think they could have picked a better color for this car.

I'm sure the Collector Edition numbers will be low....but likely so will all the rest of the 2024 Camaro production. IMO any 2024 ZL1 would be just as collectable as the CE, and a 1LE model even moreso.

Not like the CE though, trust me. No regular 2024 ZL1 or ZL1 1LE will ever be more collectable than the CE. If you want the most collectable 2024 ZL1, get a manual transmission, no sunroof, UQT ZL1 coupe. Manual convertible CE will also be up there.

Ya if all you are going to do is buy it and park it in your collection... I get it... and your probably right. That's what all or most all of them will be. Obviously not everyone is going to like what they did. I'm just one who doesn't like it. A black Camaro with red calipers isn't "CE" to me...

I agree... I don't think matte black paint will make it more collectable.

My 2021 3LT said Mosaic black in the paperwork. I should go find that, lol

I thought the big constraint on the ZLE right now was the wing? Seems strange they are adding it to other trims.

My guess is that they already have the wings stockpiled for this car.
