Tune in FL
So I called a "respectable" race shop in South FL (whose name I won't put on here) to ask about tuning a ZL1 after certain parts are installed. They proceeded to tell me that they won't tune a car with a Roto-Fab CAI and other certain after-market parts on it. They said they would only tune a car with parts that they recommended as they have good history with them.
Now I understand this and I can agree with this to an extent. However, I have read quite a bit on this site and it seems that most of ya'll have either Roto-Fab or CAI intakes. I have seen a few with Airaid on here, and that's what they recommend. But I still can't get over them telling me they won't touch the car with a Roto-Fab, which I personally like. I guess I'll have to find a tuner in the Melbourne area or find another shop that has a good rep tuning ZL1s. Ugh, since when is the customer wrong??? hahaha

We offer our MyCal handheld tuninig device that we can supply you with a remote tune using the Roto-Fab CAI. With our 93 octane performance tune incorporating the CAI you would be looking at roughly 25-35 whp.
Give us a call if you have any further questions. |

what were the other "certain after-market parts". I cant image a shop wouldn't calibrate it because of an air intake.

I asked about Pfadt headers, and they said they won't install them even if I managed to get my hands on a set as they said Pfadt was out of business. Funny enough, I recently got an email from Pfadt saying their Tri-Y headers would again be available in about 2 months.
This particular speed shop said they would only use Airaid CAI, Kooks or ARH headers (both which are awesome) and not quite sure what cat-backs but they would work with StainlessWorks ones I want to install. Again, I don't want to publicly bash them, they are a good shop and do have a great reputation. Perhaps it was just the one sales person that responded to me and he had an off day. Either way, I'm still shopping around and have plenty of time as my TPW is 5/4 and I don't even have a car yet. haha Can't wait to get it and get those break-in miles complete.
