No need for a larger intercooler as that will just be fighting ambient air temps. No matter how large and efficient, you can only cool to within 5-10*F of the ambient air temp.

This will keep them in the 70's during 90-100* days, and down to near freezing when cooler temps are in the air.

Weighs onlt app 12# total, and nothing to buy as far as consumables.

Yes your set up is the only thing for the IC that makes sense, and ice. Adding a tank in the engine bay I do not see how that would help unless your set up is used.
How does the AC extract heat? By the evaporator touching the bottom of the HX?

the intercooler coolant lines run through the chiller unit and get superchilled by the cars freon which also runs through the chiller unit

Yes, I know how it works. How does the evaporator connect to the HX? Is it only touching at the bottom to remove the heat?

AC removes heat and does not produce cold. To make anything cold we have to remove heat.

The chiller unit has to be a evaporator with a expansion valve. Running freon though something will not always cool, you have to expand the freon to get it to remove heat. Then compress the freon to get the heat out of that with a condenser.

The AC system and SC cooling system are completely separate. They are not tied together so the evaporator is doing nothing to cool the HX. While the super chiller system is operating the HX is bypassed.

Yes I know they are both closed loupe in each, how is the heat removed from the HX? How is it touching the the HX?
I work with AC all the time.
Does it have its own tank and the evaporator lines run though that? That's what it sounds like. You cool the SC IC fluid in a tank with a bypassed AC evaporator line coil?
So you use a switch to divert the freon to a supper chiller evaporator with a tank with the IC fluid bath?

Ok, I see now. It has its own tank and bypass the HX while you cool the IC fluid. Thanks

I like special thanks to Tracey and Greg at rev extreme for an awesome day at the shop and an awesome install of my new RX/CHILLER. there are no finished pics because this unit is so well hidden you wouldn't know what you were looking at. you cant even tell its there visually.

I want to see all fitting that you make for a chiller. Do they have threaded pipe fittings for AC lines?

The front of these cars have a LOT of items up there. There is a reason you do not see too many blower, especially top-mount, applications on the road course. I've had clients remove superchargers from vehicles when they get so far in depth with road racing and go with the big grunty torque monster N/A motor.

Not saying that the ZL1 isn't a GREAT track car, just saying if you want to track and run 25-30 minute + sessions, it you may want to look at aftermarket cooling, especially if ambient temp's are normally high.

- Matt
I tracked my car for two days at Sebring a few weeks ago. Ambient temp in the morning was low 50's and rose to about mid 70's at 2:00PM. I want to install a larger heat exchanger (HX) to add additional fluid and heat reducing capacity. I watched the videos on this thread and the chiller does a great job cooling while driving but coolant temps and IAT rise very quickly under full throttle acceleration. I can see the application in a drag race situation, 10 to 15 seconds but I honestly do no see an advantage to the chiller in a road race/track situation of 20 to 25 minutes per session. I am I missing something?
