Wasted on a Woman

I had a guy tell me how nice my ZL1 was this morning while I was at the gas pump.

"Beautiful car." He said... "Man, I bet this baby goes fast." He said.

And I nodded. "Yes it does. Probably too fast." A laugh.

And then he said.. "Too bad it's wasted on a woman."

Yeah, he said that. And by the time I thought of a smart ass answer, he'd already gotten in his Volkswagon bug and driven away. Then I realized, no reply had been necessary.

reminds me of a story from last year.

I'd just gotten a CTF ZL1 Convertible (Mr. Bond) - -and was in Pittsburgh visiting family. I pulled into a parking lot at a small strip mall - top was down, black paint was freshly Zaino'd - tires dressed - Mr. Bond was lookin' good.

In pulls a Lexus Hybrid - a couple in their 30s gets out - the wife (..who was, shall we say - veryveryvery attractive) says to what appears to have been the husband -- " Oh wow -- look at that convertible! It's beautiful!!..."

He mumbles "...yeah, and it's probably a gas-guzzler..."

to which she responds: "...OH GROW A PAIR, Bob!!........"

It's more of a waste for people like me to own one who never drive them. The guy was an idiot for sure.

Well most likely very jealous of your great car! My wife is not ready yet to start driving our ZL1, but she is warming up to the idea.
We went to a friends house over the father's day weekend and recieved alot of thumbs up on the travel back and forth (about 5 hours). Pretty sure it was directed at the car, but perhaps some for wife too.

That was a funny story Scott, keep them coming.

That' s ridicolous!!! poor guy in his bug... that's the envy for your nice ZL1..yesterday a guy on his Sonic (with 4 people on board) passed me at my right at 60km/h (nearly going off-road) and then he made me a sign to show me how good of a pilot he was...I look at him with some piety...

My wife and I argue about her driving it. I only got a stick because of the guzzler tax on auto and she said she would learn. almost a year later she still refusing to get behind the drivers seat. Saying that that guy is a tool is an understatement. As long as people pay attention and are responsible anybody can have one. Knowing that you are better than him is enough satisfaction. You could've actually said the same thing back to him. That way he would know how it feels. But you were the better person, which I definitely would not be. My hats off to you for not saying anything.

Don’t worry about it, it takes all kinds.

The question I am asked most about my car is “What’s the gas mileage like?”My response is “I have no idea; when it says E, I put gas in it. When it says F, I know I’m good to go.”

If I gave a S##T about how much gas this car drank I would have bought a Prius.
