Body colored carbon fiber roofs are now being produced but exposed carbon fiber roof orders continue to lag behind.

This is good news, ordered a C7 Z51 from a smaller dealer whom got 6 allocations. I'm 4th on the list the previous 3 have all been delivered. Still setting at 1100 with order placed 6 weeks ago. They tell me that they have not gotten their first allocation picked up for the second cycle. I am hopeful they are being truthful. Hearing constraints are getting somewhat better is encouraging news.

There are 140+ avail right now on Speedlist --- so not really sure why folks are having such a hard time finding a car unless they are speccing them out?

This is all based on whether the dealership you ordered your car at has an allocation or not. There are cars out there, but its not the same as ordering exactly what you want. I ordered my car on 12-18-13 and it has now shipped today. I got on a couple different dealerships list and waited till one was available to process the order.

Z51

After 4 months my dealer finally received another allocation. There were 106 Z51 packages available so they placed my order for the second time.

Just found out that it didn't get picked up. This is the second time GM doesn't pick it up because of the Z51 constraint
It sucks that big volume corvette dealers can order for stock but smaller corvette dealers can't get a presold order picked up.

I wasn't too worried until I read this thread. I just placed an order a couple of days ago for a Z51 at a small dealership.....

Small dealerships don't necessarily mean you won't get your order. My order (2LT w/ Z51) was placed by the dealership at the start of December and I picked up the car from them on January 16 and they only received 4 allocations in the first round. In fact, Kerbecks (who advertise that they are the largest Corvette dealer in America) called my salesman and tried to get him to sell them my car in exchange for a non-Z51 because they couldn't get any Z51s in. All depends on the allocations the dealers have. When my salesman called me to say the order was placed it was because they got an allocation that allowed them to order a Z51.

Karl Chevrolet, in Ankeny, Iowa, is the biggest Corvette dealership.

I just talked to a salesperson at a small dealership today and he said that they have had no problem ordering Z51's to sell on their showroom/lot. And I've read a few stories of people who have ordered Z51's and only waited 6-9 weeks. That made me feel a lot better

About 8 weeks for my 2lt z51 from order to delivery. Worth the wait but glad I didn't have to pay the increase

This is completely false. I don't think they're even in the top 10. Kerbeck is the largest and has been for a while. I know because we're chasing them. They sold around 600 last year when we did just short of 300. Mac Mulkin is #2 and the 3rd spot is a close race between us, Criswell, and Les Stanford. I think only about 20-30 units separates the three of us every year. I know that we delivered 130 in the last quarter alone last year and will do about 110 in this first quarter. I'm pretty sure those other guys will all report roughly the same numbers.

Now Karl Chevy is definitely one of the largest Chevy stores in general though. I think I heard they do somewhere around 400 new units or every month (cars and trucks combined). I'll have to look it up from work, but I want to say they crank an insane amount of trucks out of there. I've only ever heard good things about them so it's probably a great place to sell from.

Interesting. Kerbecks has held top place ever since I started following these things (more than two decades, I think) and I had calculated Les Stanford had fallen from third up until the last few years to fifth or sixth. Good post and I hope (for my own selfish reasons) you post a follow up.

No I have never bought a vehicle from Stanford or any of the other mentioned dealers.
