Anyone ever pre trade? I just did for a Z51. Hope I don't regret it.

Hello! New guy around here. So I know there are constraints but my dealer has assured me he'll have my Z51 3LT within 12 weeks. I certainly hope so because to get what I wanted out of my Boxster, he had to have it right then and there. I can tolerate driving my daughters Beetle for 3 months I just really hope these guys are being up front with me. My order was submitted today. Would anyone else have rolled the dice on this? I am stoked though, I've been working on the better half for a while to get this going. I ordered the black coupe, black wheels, red calipers, and red interior.

I would have done the same if I could have. In the past 2 months of waiting I spent over 1500 on brakes and tires for my Camaro.

I have the same exact car and color combo except a 1LT.

I think you did the right thing. My dealer did not want to discuss my trade prior to delivery of my C7, so last week when my car is delivered( which is fantastic) the trade was not what I expected. The stingray is sitting there calling out to me and the salesman knows I am not going home without it. He has no incentive to offer me much on the trade. So I ended up leaving with both cars. I then took the trade in to Carmax and sold it for cash that was higher than his trade offer and just five percent short of what I wanted. The dealer offered 17000 trade, carmax gave me 20000, i wanted 21000 in trade. I wish I had gotten a pre-delivery trade. Your car will be delivered soon, you know what it will cost, no problems.

Thanks for the reassurances guys. I really wanted to make the trade happen to offset the sales tax. I've dealt with Carmax before and both times sold the car on Craigslist for 2k over what those guys were offering. I guess it is what it is and ill just sit back and enjoy the thrill of the chase.

Traded my Camaro in November 1st and my Z51 has a TPW of 1/6.

Thank goodness I'm driving an F150 instead of a beetle.

Traded in my C6 and my Harley mid July and took delivery of my C7 Z51 maxed out on the options October 30th, no regrets and no payments.

Sounds like you did the right thing. I sold my Cayman S outright rather than trade it in. Was fortunate to sell it in 2 days. Now my C7 is scheduled for build the week of 1/13.

I turned in my 2012 grand sport early. I have a Tpw of 1/13 - 3300 status but no vin. Hope it gets built on schedule. I'm a little concerned because it's a z51 with exposed carbon fiber roof. White over red

Your dealer took your vette and harley? Did you get a good offer on your Harley? I've been thinking of doing the same thing.

My dealer offered me up front money for a trade on my ZL1 and it wasn't enough so I found a buyer and the dealership did my deal as an in and out trade so I have $4500 in tax credits waiting on GM to give them their next allocation.

did the same with a 2006 z06 must trust the dealer,coupe z51,ordered late October.STILL WAITING 1100 status

Yeah I'm getting a little nervous. Monday will make 4 weeks of the promised 12 and I'm stuck at 1100 as well. They promised that they had allocation but I guess I should've tried to have them show me that in writing. I think the current allocations now are targeting late Feb for TPW so if it's not picked up next week they're probably not going to hit the timeframe they promised. I'm pretty much stuck since they took my Porsche. It's not like I can say I want a refund of my deposit if things start obviously going south. This is exactly what I was concerned about when I originally posted.
