Diablo tune? How do U do it?

Hello, how are you guys programing the 2010 2ss with the Diablo predator? My Dad picked one up for his car and he said it only has a 91 tune in it and will let him do anything. He said its at revision 914

There is a 91 tune and the Diablo Tune, which is for 93 octane.

What do you mean it wont let him do anything?

Does he have an automatic trans?

AFM is active fuel management 4 cyl mode on the L99 w/ auto trans. Nice to turn that off.

If you have 93 octane gas in the area, tell him to load the Diablo tune (which is the 93 tune).

It is the 6.2 and said they told me they said they loaded the diablo tune. So that is 93 octane, yes there is 93 gas here. Ok so then the AMF is not for the 6.2, that is very helpfull.

Can someone please tell me what the programmer can do for the 6.2 AUTO THEN? Like what it can control??? He put a air intake on the catbacks from GM and a Poweraid spacers is to still go on and a 180 thermostat still to go on.

I misunderstood, he showed me in the camaro book the AMF. SO How do they turn it off???

AFM is on the 6.2 L L99 engine that comes with the auto trans. It is not on the 6.2L LS3 engine that comes with the manual trans.

It makes the engine run on 4 cylinders under very light load. If you change the exhaust, you will want to turn that AFM mode off using the Diablosport tuner. With an exhaust change, it will sound really bad when it goes into that AFM 4 cyl mode.

Having loaded the Diablo tune, your all set for the other changes your planning... mufflers, CAI... if it were me, I wouldn't mess with the thermostat.

To turn off the AFM, follow the directions for modifying the tune. You will then be using a modified version of the Diablo tune.

I beleive it is called the DOD on the Diablo (same as AFM -not AMF) it will deactivate the 4 cylinder mode and keep the engine in V8 mode (better for exhaust and drone). This is only if you have the Automatic not the 6M

Looks like it is called DOD (another name for AFM). I copied this from the Diablosport forum:

"you would hook the predator up to your car, select the same tune you installed before - either the diablo tune or the 91 octane tune, then this time, you select Modify Tune instead of install tune...

then scroll down to DOD, and select to turn it off/disable it.. press the center button to save your selection... then press the ESC button a few times to back out of the menus and it will ask you "Install Tune now?" - answer/select YES, and it will reinstall the tune with the change made to it..."

On Diablosport's website, they have a forum with tons of info. I typed in AFM in the search and found the above quote.

Basically what you are doing is installing a modified version of the Diablo tune. You now have the unmodified version loaded. Go through the steps in the quote, and you will have a modified version of the Diablo tune with the AFM (DOD) turned off.

AFM is labelled DOD in the diablosport programmer. click on the selected tune, click modify tune, scroll down to DOD disable, and do it from there. you can also adjust things such as injector slope which is for part-throttle cruising, Power enrichment for wide-open throttle, spark advance, engine rev limit, idle speed in gear and in neutral, fan settings.

for more info on how to adjust these things check out the diablosport.com forum and search how to adjust injector slope.

Go to "Modify Tune" then turn off DOD (Displacement on Demand) which is same as AFM (Active Fuel Management). Drive the car for a bit and let it learn the new settings and your car will be rocking...

I wouldn't bother with either of these items... they won't gain you anything... just a lighter wallet...

the stock t-stat is already a 187* t-stat... and the engines in the camaros like to run at about 200* - 206* for best performance/power...

and, you can't adjust the fan % power for anything lower than 192* anyway...
