FWIW - The XT5 has 6 lugs. So does my 2012 SRX.
Yup They are. Escalade (an SUV, not a CUV) is RWD The XT6 will be revealed at a Cadillac only press event on Sunday night, before the auto show. I wasn’t invited to attend, but one of our media folks who works in my office will be there. Notice on the photos in the attached article that the wheels clearly have 6 lugs. https://www.autonews.com/article/201...ver-in-detroit

I thought the number of lugs was more related to vehicle weight than drive configuration.

I don't really know but the curb weight is listed at 4400 lbs for the base version.

CT6-V evidently limited to 275 units so far.
Also: CT6 receives a stay of execution. Production will continue.

Any reason given? For how long?....Do they realize it is supposedly a no longer desirable 4-door passenger sedan?... Maybe some common sense prevailed they realized some sales are better than none...It sold almost 10K units in 2018. Maybe there is hope for other GM models that have been pre-maturely declared obsolete. |

interesting. Did they realize that Cadillac will still need a bigger sedan in the lineup to compete with the Euro rivals?

Evidently CT6 was never actually slated for cancellation. Everyone just assumed it was.

Assumed? Every article and blog has the CT6 on the cancelled list. Google GM cancelled models and CT6 is on it....Probably the GM alternate-universe syndrome. What's next? No plant closures?

Yeah, one source figured CT6 was being canned and everyone else just ran with it. Supposedly that was never the case.

Don't you think if that was the case GM would have been a little more proactive about saying that the CT6 is staying around?

Here is the source cited by Wikipedia....The source was a GM press release stating Hamtramck will be unallocated for 2019. All vehicles made at Hamtramck, including the CT6, are on the cancelled list....
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...300755112.html ...Or would they still close the plant and move the CT6 somewhere else? |

*edit* And GM probably isn't keen in advertising that they intended to import a model from China while clos-err, 'unallocating' the US plant where it was built.
