Ya I can't agree more with you guys I mean Last camaro's made SS was top. And that is what people were used to. I mean if they bring them back a don't put SS as the top car, and put the Z28 on top. people are going to think were is the SS when will it be coming out. Then some people may be like well I am going to wait and get the SS when they do bring it out, it will be a better and faster car. Do you see what I am talking about now?

I have a feeling GM is going to annonce all we need to know and will come out with both SS and Z28 versions about the same time. They will most likely start w/ the V6 models at a lower cost and bring in fast money then getting to V8's a little later. At least, that's how I see it happening.

On a somewhat related note... Someone on another board claims to have heard the official numbers on the LS3 with the Standard Vette making 425 HP and the Z51 making 435HP (supposedly becasue of the Z06 exhaust)... Can anyone (3Whiterag) supply any winkies as to the validity of these claims? |

I can't wait for the car to come out I was a huge! firebird fan. with this platform i'm sure it won't be far behind, but I believe I will be owning the best model camaro I can aford as soon as it becomes available, I will be working for GMAC soon, and enjoying the GM family discount.
I really hope the top dog isn't an SS who really wants to share a name tag with a cobalt? For some reason i don't see a supercharged engine coming out real soon from GM in a camaro, Ford has done it for quite some time. but considering that the corvette Z06 with 505 HP is natually aspirated (for now) why would they go to an SC? lets hear it for Z28 being the top car! |

Don't take my response as a verification of the statement that was quoted before. All I am saying, is people will not be disappointed!

I remember the first Z-28 in '68. It was positioned below the SS. It was sort of a COPO for the masses. I would like to see the SS as top dog. After all SS does mean SUPER Sport.

I wonder what percentage of the time they are right? Are they right more than they are wrong, or are they wrong more than they are right?

Any way someone can scan the article and post it? I would like to read it in its context instead of reading the quotes people post out of context....
I heard that they estimate the very to be 3,750 lbs and the coupe at 3,650 lbs.... I think that is probably going to be close. With all of the effort they are taking to reduce weight I would think the coupe will be between 3600-3700 lbs. |
