All Season Run Flats for the SS ?
I have seen a lot of people asking for All Season tires on the SS, but I was wondering if anyone makes the factory sizes in All Seasons that are still Run Flats ?
If not the factory sizes are there any that will work ?....Wasn't sure if Magnetic Ride Control was affected by tire size or not ? Do quite a bit of travelling and the run flats might just save me a flat tire in the middle of West Texas some day.

Very far and few choices. And they're expensive too.

Really surprising, you know there is a big market for them.
I read about some new Michelins, but I don't guess they have come out yet.

If it's just for DD, you could get a setup off the RS and run the 245/40/20 all around.

I had actually thought about doing just that !
I also found some Goodyear Eagle Sports Run flats in a 255/45R20, but wasn't sure if they would too big. 245/40R20 --- 27.72 tall -- 9.65 wide 255/45R20 --- 29.04 tall -- 10.04 wide I don't even have the car yet, still have my '15 so it's hard to get a feel for how they would fit. I have the regular Eagle Sports on my '15 and really like them, they don't pick up and throw rocks down the side of the car like the P-Zero's did. That is something else I was looking for....not picking up every little rock on the tread...Are the F1's bad about that ? - - - -

I thought the stock SS tires were decent. I got over 20k out of a set.

Well, here's the thing about RF, if the RF feature can deal with it, it's probably something you could have been sealed up with fix-a-flat to get you home/to a place to get a plug. If it's not, it's likely something that RF wouldn't be able to deal with anyway. IF you actually have to use the RF, it destroys the sidewall of the tire and you have to buy at least 2 new tires anyway, so what does this actually do except cost a lot of money and make the replacements even more expensive? Oh, it'll run "flat". If you think the worse handling and suspension is worth it for the minimal chance the run-flat feature might be the only saving grace, go for it I guess, but roadside assistance and good tires is a better option these days IMO. Probably pays for itself compared to the cost of RFs.

I read were they talk about cracking sidewalls under 40 degrees. Although I'll be honest I drove on my summer tires for 2 or 3 years before I worried about it....but once you start thinking about it, it's hard to forget it.

Since I first heard about run flats back years ago I thought how great they would be and have always wanted some. I don't trust just anyone fooling with my cars and I figured these would get me to where I could go to someone I trust and not just the closest place. I wonder how much the Magnetic Ride would make up for the stiffness of the tires....or do people still say they are bad ?

IMO the standard Goodyear runflats the SS comes with are not bad. They grip well and last relatively long (not in burnoutville of course), and although they aren't perfect and make some noise, I wouldn't throw them away, especially not for runflat all-seasons, which could be the worst of all worlds (never had these, but they're a compromise in everything for a lot of money). How about keeping the stock tires and getting a separate winter set?

I have never had any runflat tires at all. The P-Zero's that came on the 5th Gen were good, but threw rocks like crazy, maybe I'd be happy with these F1's. Driving through a store parking lot you could hear little rocks hitting in the wheel wells.

As to hearing stones hitting the wheel well and the bottom, make no mistake, it happens just as well with the stock SS runflats. The only tires I had that didn't do it much were the 18" standard all-season non-runflat GY Eagles I had back on the V6.

I don't blame you for not driving it in the winter, that is a smart thing to do. The Eagle Sports I have on my '15 don't throw rocks at all, I was hoping to find some runflats like that, but I'm not sure such a thing exists....might need a happy medium
