Well considering the 1LE package is $6500 on an SS $62,125 is tempting and I can't believe I just typed that.

Not sure where this leaves room for a Z/28. Yikes-a-mighty.

But with the weight of this beast at or near 3,900 pounds, it won't keep up with a Z06/Z07 on the track.

So that opens the door back up a NA car with CC brakes that is shall we say lightened just a bit.

So to differentiate from this car, I'm more inclined to believe we have a 500 HP LT2 that is somehow in the 3,400 pound range. Carbon hood and fenders, limited options again.

I think that is how you differentiate the Z/28 from this monster ZL1.

.

But what will this monster ZL1 do at the 'ring?

Everybody said the last one was a driver's car. More HP, stiffer, less weight, every parameter is improved. A Camaro isn't a Z06, but that's the point. For a stock Camaro to do what they ARE going to do here is simply incredible.

And the amenities everyone wants in their daily driver supercar are still there.

I don't think I'm looking through rose colored glasses when I say I'm impressed.

Interesting, but that car just got really expensive.

Yes it would likely be on par with the Gen5 Z/28.

If you want a less expensive track capable Camaro, you can still get the 1LE package on the SS

Yeah it's a good deal, nice car. FYI I'm ordering a 2017 Corvette. Working on deals now.

Thanks! It will be a Grand Sport in Admiral Blue with M7, Z07, Comp Seats... Finally ordering I had to wait for the M7 to come off constraint.

It would be sad to just copy the Corvette and have the ZL1 be the Z06 and the Z/28 is simply the Grand Sport. But I think that is a 1LE so I'm not sure about that.

It also could be the Z/28 is simply, as we've discussed, a more track oriented ZL1, light weighted with CC brakes.

But it seems to have gone silent now, so perhaps GM is using their secret lab running tests at night and all that secret squirrel stuff.

I hope there's more to the Z/28 than being an aero and light weight upgrade to the ZL1.

As long as it is seconds faster around the track, does it matter what equipment a Z/28 has?

If it is going to overheat after two laps then yes.
