I have had the same issues today. It has been raining all day and there is water all in my trunk. My car isn't a Convertible. When I took a look inside the trunk the leak seemed to come from the rubber gasket going to a rubber hose coming from the rim of the trunk lid. I am currently overseas so I cant take it to a chevy dealership. Any suggestion's?

Yeah I have a sunroof. Is that where the little rubber hose that runs to the trunk lid from? I did check the hose and it was a little loose. It seems to be cheaply made. Doesn't seem to have a zip tie...nothing to connect it to the drain onto the trunk lid.

Check some of the earlier posts in the thread, I think there were a few that told how to fix it.

Had the dealer check and found the leak from a seal around my back window. It was "worn out". They removed the glass and reinstalled with better seals. Two months and no problems!

can anyone tell me what the name and or part number is for the grommet in the trunk that the drain hose attaches to? I had body work done over a year ago and fond they didn't re-install that grommet, they left the drain hose hanging in the air.

I had this problem with a sunroof drain in a 1980's cavalier. Amazing that GM is still making this crappy part the same way. That car would get an inch of water in the spare tire well whenever it rained.
My Camaro has no sunroof and no leak. |

The passenger side of my trunk just below the lip nearest the rear windshield is a wet mess right now. This is the second time I've noticed it happen. The first time was months ago, this time was after a car wash. I have a sunroof, but the grommets look secure.
I called my dealership and they said they wouldn't even look at it. Chevrolet Customer Svc, any help here? My car is a 2012 and, admittedly, is just past the bumper-to-bumper period. But why would the dealership refuse to even look at it and offer me a price to repair?

Mine did too, just the other day as a matter of fact. Not so much as drop before that. Weatherstrip looks fine, although I can tell it leaked from where the cable goes in.
We had two days of steady rain. There are also a lot of trees with smaller leaves. I wonder if the drainage is blocked where the water flows at the bumper cover behind the lights? |

Me too
I just had to put a new battery in my 2013 Dusk Edition. Sure enough, under the carpet down in the battery compartment there is a 1/4 inch of water! No idea how long it's been like that. This appears to be a common issue. I sure hope it's fixed for free. This can't be good. Does anyone have any pictures of said hose? I sure can't seem to locate it? Do you have to move the carpeted panel on the side or what?
Thanks! EDIT: Well, never mind. That was absolutely my issue as well. I was looking farther back instead of up close. Found it and fixed. Last edited by Storm T; 12-22-2017 at 05:42 PM. Reason: Update |
