First time driving the Camaro in the snow

Had to go to Harrisburg PA for my nephews birthday today and it started to snow. A 2 hour drive home turned into a 4.5 hour drive. All in all it handled pretty well got loose a few times, but that was more due to idiots driving.

Not sure what tires you have-but here is a shout out for anyone that can navigate with P-Zero's. I backed out of garage yesterday into maybe 2 inches of snow-could barely get it back into the garage.

I swapped out the P-Zero's for all season the first month I had the car.

There are a few good all season tires that are pretty good like the Continental Extreme Contact DWS but personally if your going to drive that beautiful car in snow get some winter tires. Most all season tires imho are average at best in the winter. Better then summer tires but no contest to a true winter tire.

Which all-season radials do you have on?

I'm interested in getting rid of my P-Zeros (only 4.5k miles on them) for all-season radials and would like to know what all-seasons people have opted for instead of the P-Zeros.

Camaro SS + Stock P-zeros + thin layer of snow (.1 inch) = I couldn't make it out the driveway. Good job for you though.

The car is my daily driver, however I do try to avoid driving it when it snows. I just got caught 2 hours away from home when it started, I don't plan to do that again. But you are right and I plan on getting a set of winter tires for next year.

I opted for the Yokohama Parada Spec-X http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Parada+Spec-X

When I purchased these there weren't many options for 20" all season in the stock tire size, I believe there are several new ones available.

Just want to chime in and say, having bought my Camaro in November, that I've had an interesting winter so far (also in NJ).

I'm riding on all seasons, and I (generally) have no problem getting to and from work. I've actually had my job open during these snow storms, then decide to close at noon so I get to drive home in the thick of it. I only got stuck once, and that was poor judgement on my part. I knew I couldn't make it up that unplowed on ramp.

Having driven a 1979 Trans Am as a daily driver, back when I was in college, I learned how to drive a front heavy, rwd car in the snow. In the snow, the stability and handling difference between the Camaro and the Trans Am is night and day. While it still requires attentive driving, I can actually get places (so far).
