Maybe ford is hiking up the price now so next year or the 2018 model price increase won't seem so crazy when they try to catch up to the Camaro.

Maybe they are planning some incremental upgrades for MY 2017 which they feel will make the Stang more competitive, and will justify on-par pricing with the Gen 6.

At the Ford marketing department:

- Sir, Mustang fans are getting upset because Camaro seems to be a better car overall. We gotta give them SOMETHING!
* Woo, I got an idea. Let's give them 'Price Increase!'

Let's hope it's this and keep the performance wars going!

A little discouraging to see such a jump for no justifiable reason. I'm not worried about it I bought mine months back. At least it's a smaller jump from the C7 debacle. It only shows when building though, could possibly be an issue with the system. I doubt it but it's possible.

Edit: It's not a mistake, I just loaded up the X-plan page and the new MSRP is the same as the Ford website.

One hand, it's not surprising given sales are the best they've been since 2007.

On the other hand, you would think Ford would wait until the Camaro is on the market long enough to gauge how well they sell.

it looks like the website has an error...

A Ford pricing release stated the actual MSRP hike was on V6's and Ecoboosts..and only $250.

The GT's and GT350's are remaining unchanged.

That's easier to swallow.
