May have just picked up a turd. Sad but ALL car makes have them. Back in the day the GM 2.8 only had 120HP but some would put down 120+ to the wheels others about 75!

Never seen a A8 not walk all over and away from a stock 5.0

From a roll or standstill? Not a single issue here making those kills.

Do you have a dyno anywhere near you? See if they've tested other 6th gens and run your's to see if you are putting down comparable power.

That or take it into the dealership.

So you drive over 5 hrs from Houston, to the nearest point of entry to Mexico, to get whipped by dodges and 5.0's??

Couple questions first: How many miles are on your car? Are you using competition mode? Most importantly how do you know these 5.0s are stock? Mustangs have a HUGE aftermarket. By the way the SRT 392 and Scat Packs are pretty fast in their own right.

Also fill up with good 93 and make sure the car isn't pulling timing. Take it to a dyno.

I have been out-trapping and beating the 5.0's and SRT8's handily at the track when I was stock. Are you going from about a 40 roll or 50? These autos have a bit of a lag when you don't roll from a good shifting point. Easy to lose to cars that are quite powerful like the 5.0's and SRT8's.

Sorry, I'm new to navigating forums.
Ok so after 8k miles your car is broken in. Like the poster below my original post make sure you are using premium fuel. Also use track/competition mode. Never assume any 5.0 is stock either anyone who has one and wants to race gen 6 camaro probably has a tune at the least.

From a roll. Don't know if the 5.0s are modded, except for exhaust on one for sure.
I've never been to Mexico.
The dyno was a great idea. Tons of speed shops here.
I did not understand the capitalized initials of where to check for oil.
Thanks for the input.
I didn't get the yellow smiley faces either.
I guess that and the question before was some kind of burn.
If roll racing you need to learn to use the paddles. Downshift manually to the best gear for the speed you are at (put shifter in the manual gate). As soon as you nail the throttle, throw the shifter back into Drive so it will do its thing. Like jdasnt3 said, the auto can take a critical second or two to downshift in Drive. Better yet, tell those babies to do run it from a dig or they are just proving they can't drive
