I bet they didn't. I almost bet that they built the C7, and somebody looked at it and figured this out. Kudos to that person.

I think that looks really nice. Of course, a contrasting color plate will still take away from the look of the front of the car. It's the best solution I've seen yet though.

I'll actually be happy to rock my C7 with a front vanity plate!

That looks great. GM did a great job fixing this issue.

Carbon fiber removable license plate bracket for the C7
The company that produces the carbon fiber removable license plate bracket for the C6 ZR1, GS and Z06 is working on a design for the new C7.
I don't know what stage in the design process they are at, but if it is like the C6 version, it's going to be nice. I have one for my ZR1 and it's great! I personally like the way it sits lower on the facia and air flow is not a problem at all. I put it on when I drive and take it off when I am at home or at shows. It is super light and the carbon fiber pattern matches the front spoiler perfectly. I trust the company will be looking for testers, as they did for for the C6 version and they gave a free bracket to the tester for their help. Here is a video of the C6 one in action. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A6AR0r_VXTc Leon. |

I have a silver/red one on order and while I hope not have to use this, being in NY it may be a viable alternative to getting pulled over !

Is that the OEM front License Plate Bracket or the one shown in the attached picture of one at a Chevy showroom?

Nope. Well that's a Canadian dealer so I'm not sure if their front plate laws are different.
The normal front plate bracket fits completely within the grille.
