Yup they are all autos, no manuals. The MCT is an auto too but with wet clutches instead of a converter.

I'm looking at a softer tune with maybe a couple bolt-ons because the stock exhaust seems to sound the best honestly.

I'd like to get over 500 at the motor and also some better mileage so I can drive further between stops.

When this thing is paid off I hope GM sticks to their word and moves the Camaro to the lighter Alpha(?) platform. When the car first came out in 2006 in Australia they promised the next one would be lighter.

Still dreaming they will make a raw, stripped version that also gets corvette like mileage so I can rationalize it lol. Thats why I like the Boss more than the GT500.

c63 engine is basically a detuned SLS engine, so the 70whp is actually pretty feasible, and it's what all the other tuners (oetuning, eurocharged, kleeman, etc) give the car too. Although MHP doesn't have the greatest reputation.

Those new AMG hand built Twin Turbo V8's can propel even their large sedans into the 11's at 120+ by simply pressing and holding the go pedal down while the computers take care of the rest. I wouldn't tangle with a stock one unless you had some serious mods and forget about it and move along if its modded because they are dummy proof when it comes to putting down the power to take the win.

The biggest fun factor for me, is the wife is happy being a badge fan, and I have a fun car to drive with a drivetrain I respect. My wife did like the Camaro, but for me not her and I wasn't going to buy two of these things lol

I also like the Boss 302, but not the GT500 so much. The rear suspension on the G8/Camaro does make a huge difference when driving over curvy roads with bumps, slopes etc.

I'm also not sure I believe it yet, but the tune only and tune plus bolt-on only power seems crazy.

I thought my G8 was insane when a tune and bolt-ons got you more than 40 to the wheels, but a stock C63 gains at least that much with no bolt-ons and a soft tune with some tuners claiming 70+ horsepower to the wheels for a 1,400 dollar tune (http://www.modernhorsepower.com/). For my situation, I don't plan on doing cams, head work etc. which gets you a lot of horsepower out of a LXX motor, so the tune/bolt-on gains are nice with this thing.

But as has been mentioned in other threads, gotta have overall fun with the car and I prefer this N/A monster over the much faster new twin turbo motors Mercedes is deploying, they sound like messed up whoopy cushions when they take off on you lol.
I think these cars run like high 10s at ridiculous traps, I even seen 128mph with bolt ons and tune, also aren't headers like $9000. http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Benz--C63-AMG-Drag-Racing.html,

Headers are in the three grand range street price I believe.

They do have crazy stuff like 12k retail exhaust, you can get a online steal on at 7k lol.

The twin turbos are definately something I would not mess with. If I wanted a drag car, I'd get the smallest car I could find with that guy in it.

Just looked at an old C&D this morning where the ran a C63 Coupe against the M3, The C63 did 0-60 in 3.7 and the 1/4 mile in 12.1@120.

I think considering the ZL's average times down the track, this win belongs to the C63 easily.

The first car magazine test on the 2012 coupe C63 with performance package did a 12.1@120. Also it did 3.7 sec 0-60 mph.. That is still with factory 255 tires in the rear.

It depends on the brand of headers. They use to be crazy expensive about 3 years ago but since then there are two companies compiting each other and the prices of the long tube headers with life time warranty went down to less than $2500.

look for mbhmotorsports or Modernhorsepower and you will see the headers that I am talking about.

You can never compare the prices with chevrolet cars because chevrolet cars are everywhere and they are mass produced(LS2, LS3, LS7, lS1, LS6 etc, etc).

A normal C63 on the strip, yeah a drivers race. The P31 Development package C63 on the strip, it's still probably a drivers race. On a road course the ZL1 would probably beat these two.

In MT's Worlds Greatest Drag Race 2 The ZL1 and C63 Black Series both ran a equal time of 12.1 @117. What Now?
All those who thought the ZL1 would get raped, get its butt handed to it, could not touch it, ect, ect.. may now take foot from mouth to type.

Well for me, outside of MT who uses corrected times, no one on this planet seems capable of getting that kind of time out of a stock ZL1 except GM's claims. For the most part Z's are running 12.5-12.8 in stock form.

C63's seem to actually be able to hit low 12's from their customers, despite weather conditions, humidity, number of passes made, position of the moon, and how the stars align.

The best gain on a BENZ is the v-12 cars. For a 1,000 tune you get 600 hp plus (100 hp gain).
My buddy has a tuned SL600 it's an AMAZING torque machine.
