Borla S type vs Atak??
So I have my KooKs LT headers on the way, now I have been trying to figure out what I want for the cat back exhaust, I keep finding myself going back to Borla, but I'm not sure if I want the S type or Atak..
I'm ready to pull the trigger, I just wish I could hear this setup with my own ears and not off YouTube.. I want to place my order Monday... The good thing is I finally have my exhaust piecing together..

Indeed it is. with LT headers it is crazy loud, so if you don't mind annoying the neighbors (or anyone else) the ATAK is a great exhaust!

I have LT Headers/Cam and i went with the S Type and it gives it a DEEP Growl instead of that high pitched raspy sound of the Atak.....it all dependes on what your pref is. They are both good...cause Borla Rules!!!

I agree, the Atak has a raspier sound if you want that. I went with the S type.

I'm in the same boat as ToolFan66 but I'm still operating with original equipment. Does anyone remember at what RPM does the Atak and S-Type start to resonate with a stock engine? What I'm trying to figure out is which of the two exhausts would allow me to put put around town without being overly obnoxious until I get on it. From all the videos that I've seen, the S-Type is rather muted until long tubes are installed. Where as the Atak is kinda the sleeper until you get on it.
The kid in me wants the Atak but the tame/civilized me wants the S-Type.... |

Alot of discussion covers the deeper tone of the S type and the louder/raspier sound of the Atak. I personally enjoy a deeper growl, so I went with the S-type. There are times I wish it was louder, but I don't want the rasp. SW retro appearsto be like a mix of the two. Louder because of the straight-through design, but just as deep as the S-type. Then again, my only comparison is from the S-type IRL, and the Atak/SW Retro online. JMHO.

I've been trying to decide the same thing. I love the atak, I just think that it may be a little more than I'm looking for. I'd love to hear these in person or from the seat.
The good thing is everyone seems to love whichever they choose! |

Are you going to delete your cats? That will make a big difference in how loud it is. Go to my build thread and check the video on the first posting, its Kooks Stepped headers cat delete and Borla S-Type axle back.

I will be keeping the cats on, but the more I think about it I'm thinking S'type. I wanted to place my order yesterday but I just keep going back and forth..
