Just call around. Get one dealer to tell you MSRP. Then, go over to the next dealer and tell them you want to buy soon, but all you've been offered is MSRP...and "what can you go to get my business here?" See if they go $100 below MSRP. Then, go to the next and say Brown Chevy said $100 below..."can you beat it". Some dealers won't give a crap because they know they can sell if for MSRP. Other dealers want to push the sales and going a couple hundred under MSRP will help them in the long run because they are pushing more cars out their doors. Plus, it will keep customers coming back to them. Dealers want to get, and even more importantly, KEEP you business. I swear, I love haggling w/ prices. You can do it.

Also, when I ordered the SS, my brother and I went on the PC and "spec'd" it out. A week later, I received a quote from the dealer, showing sticker, and dealer invoice pricing.
As 'Tag' said, I shopped around, showing the offer I received in the mail. Some dealers laughed and said they couldn't match it, that the dealer who quoted me the price did that as they wouldn't be able to get the car, etc., etc.. I got the SS, substantially below sticker. Ed |

We have three costs here.
1. MSRP 2. Cost - What dealers will say they paid for the car 3. Actual cost - What dealers actually paid after "bulk buying" and special discounts. I paid $200 over Cost for 3 cars...including my 02 Z28 (and 2002 cash back) and $100 over cost for the KIA. They just want to keep your business. I, personally, would never expect to pay below Cost unless I was getting another combined incentive (like the 2002 cash back). You can do it. Like Moose said, you just need to find the dealer that's going to want to keep your business for life. You can do it. |

I hear a lot of people saying they are going to wait until the second year to buy the new Camaro. Some are afraid of bugs, some of better engines, options, etc. If I can afford a new Camaro at the time, there will be one in the garage for sure. It might end up that I have to wait until the second year to get one. It's kinda worrying be that so many people say they want to wait. I wonder if that could have an effect on GM.

This car looks to be so amazing, both physically and mechanically, that IMO, it'd be very unlikely that there won't be a clammoring by the enthusiasts to own one right away. Ed |

Tag I can't agree more I will probably wait a year or two to "try" to get one depending on how I am doing at work. But I want to wait for the SS or Z28 version to come out.

I am guessing that the SS or Z28 will be offered as an option the second year of production. Just like they made anyone who wanted a Z06 wait till the second year to obtain the high end Corvette.

Im not saying that they will only have v6's the first year. I am speculating that they will be using the 5.3 as a base V8 option with the 6.2 as the Z and SS.

Sorry. I guess I'm confused. You think they won't offer the 6.2 until the 2nd year w/ only offering the 5.3 the first year? Or they won't offer the Z28 and SS until the 2nd year of production? Confused.

What im speculating is that the Z and SS will have the 6.2 in them and will not be an option untill the second year of production. The first year they will have a base V8 being the 5.3. Which if I am right that makes me happier because it will give me an extra year to save up cash for mine. Hard to save money for me im a 20 year old college student.

The current LS2 has been out for a few years, so I am sure by the time the Camaro comes out it will have at least the LS2 for the Z28, maybe a RS with the 5.3, but I can't see GM making anything more than 3 engines(v6 and 2 LSx's) the Ls7 would be great, but the cost of the engine alone would but the price of the Camaro into Z06 range.

So what would a V8 Model cost? I'm sorry but I'm lost in the MSRP stuff. What is a fair price?
