your 6th gen plans?

So I was thinking. What is everyones plan when the six gen comes out? I am asking this question directly to ZL1 owners. The new platform seems to be (all speculation) a big leap forward... 200+ lbs lighter lt1 450hp - 460hp with a 1/4 mile time of 12.3 - 12.4 (maybe)...

Anybody a Lil nerviouse we will see stock SS / 1LE six gen camaros knocking on the ZL1's door pretty soon?

And do you have any plans on making the switch? Or holding out for a future six gen ZL1? If so when do you think a six gen ZL1 will surface?

Just curious...

Personally, I'm not concerned. Although I bought my ZL1 recently, I'll wait and see if there is going to be a new 6th gen ZL1/Z28.

As did I. Coming from an SS to a ZL1 I love everything about the car.

However, I do feel some kind of way about the ZL1 being considered old news generationally speaking....haha but I knew it was a matter of time...2010 seemed like yesterday...

And I always buy a car right before the new trim or model comes out. I got my 2003 WRX a month later the STi was announced and showed up in 2004. So I got a 2005 STi which is the car I had before the SS. I got my SS in 2010 as a 2011... Of course the next year we saw the 1LE and ZL1... I know now that I got my ZL1 I have just cursed myself and we will see a six gen ZL1 anouced by next year...haha

My guess is that a Gen6 ZL1/Z28 doesn't appear till the 2017 model year. I, too, just bought my '15 ZL1 and by the time a new version comes out - I know that there are plenty of tried and true power upgrade options if I have the desire to keep pace or surpass the power of a new model Z.

I am sure the Gen6 will be an amazing and revolutionary platform for the Camaro. All evidence points to it being BY FAR the most capable car in its class, more so than now.

All that being said, if I were to upgrade it would no doubt be to a new Stingray, and that has only been a thought with no real desire to do so. If that beast doesnt make me want to sell my 5th Gen, I doubt the 6th Gen will.

No plans to do anything regarding the the 6th Gen and really do not care just yet.

But - if/when they come out with a Hellcat fighter power-wise, then I will probably be all over it. Unless the dealers play the same stupid games the Dodge dealers are doing with the HC!

Maybe trade my 2012 ZL1 in for a 2015 ZL1 sitting on the lot that no one wants at a reduced price.....

Waiting for my 2015 SW ZL1 to be built and truthfully I am happy with the Gen5 look and feel of the car so I had no desire to be an early adopter of the Gen6.

Love...Love...Love... the look of the Gen5....

I just bought my 2015 ZL1 in January. I thought long and hard about waiting to first see the gen6 before making the decision. This is my first camaro. There are lots of reasons I made the leap now.

First, I looked at the C6 to C7 experience, will probably be parallel to the gen5 to gen6. While I think the C7 is SO much better a car than the C6, it was a C6 I traded in for my ZL1, and I really didn't find the C7 a "more fun" car to drive than the C6. Did it have more intense acceleration and torque - yes. Better interior comfort and higher interior quality - yes. Better sound - (both exhaust & audio) - yes. But there was something about the less sophisticated, more raw feel of the C6 that I just enjoyed driving more. So in the choice from C6 to C7 - wasn't for me.

I first test drove a ZL1 in 2013. I should have bought it then, but I'm glad I had my years with my C6 instead. They were great years. But I never, NEVER got that danged ZL1 out of my head.

This is the last year for the gen5 ZL1. It is a perfect car for me. If the gen6, ZL1 comparable comes out and it's more perfect - after about 100K miles on my gen5 ZL1 - it'll be something to look forward to.

No plans for 6th gen, going to the unveiling because it'll be a great event but my '13 ZL1 is everything that I could've asked for and more!
