Ride height

Some people have said the new C7 rides to high and there is to much clearance between the fender and the tires. Now I know it can be lowered but what do you think?

I had mine lowered on January 13, .75 inches all around. It was the final touch in both appearance and handling. Ride was not sacrificed, had minor effect on clearance. The back stayed in alignment, the front needed a minor correction. I'll post some before/after photos.

Bear in mind that any car gets lower going down the road due to suspension response to the drive train and passenger load. Lowering needs to be a compromise between what looks good at curb side and not fooling with the phenomenal Corvette handling.

The height adjusters give room to play with and it's fun. We decide not to "slam" it and left a little room.

You can use the stock lowering bolts.
It is an easy do it yourself project.
As mentioned above, some may need an alignment, some may not.
Rumor is many of the corvettes are already out of alignment when you pick them up at the dealer.

I can't post the link to the directions for this DIY project because it's on another forum, but you should have no issue finding it.

I was going to have our local Corvette specialty shop do this for me but they wanted $350 for the lowering (using STOCK bolts - 10 minute job) and an alignment. No thank you.

I'll be doing mine this weekend and will post before/after pics.

GB EB, Air Force guys get better deals. I paid $200 for lowering and alignment. Have fun with the lowering and don't freeze. Pretty cold these days for Florida my home state.

Try taking the Transport Spacers out of the springs.

A lot of dealerships forget to do this.

Aren't the transport spacers just for Vetts with the magnetic shock option?
