How are we not talking about Mayor Rob Ford of Toronto?

Have you seen this guy?

Gets caught smoking crack, says "It was once when I was in a drunken stupor," and his approval ratings go up.

I didn't post video, maybe someone else knows where some that is bleeped is, the one I found on youtube is wide open with F bombs.

My general rule of thumb for celebrity news (regardless of what makes them famous in the first place) is this: if I myself did it, would it still be news worthy? If not, how is it news when someone else does? On top of that, why should I care when they aren't part of my life. In this case, Rob Ford is not my mayor. He's not a friend of mine, or a family member. I don't work for or with him and neither does anyone that I know. What he says & does has very little impact on my life, so I'm not overly interested in what he says or does.

If I lived in Toronto, then I'd be very interested and would probably be demanding that he resign. But to me, he's just a guy who has substance abuse issues and should seek help. I've known others like that and they don't show up in tabloids around the world, or the butt of jokes on late night TV, or in the off-topic section of car forums.

I believe thats him drunkenly ranting about how he's going to kill someone, as opposed to ordering a hit on some guy. He also describes other un-nice things he'd do to the unidentified person. Not that thats any better mind you, just clearer.

Unless this is a 3rd video that you're talking about (first being the non-public crack video, second being the one I described)

Definitely stupidity. Last I heard he was maybe thinking of getting help, but still planning on running for reelection.
Maybe he'll get some help. It's like this, if the worse thing you've done when you had to much to drink was pee in your neighbors flower bed, you get a pass. However, if the worse thing you've done when you had to much to drink involved crack whores, it's time to think about seeing a professional.
