Z28 Steering Wheel Swap
I'm wanting to swap my 2014 SS steering wheel for a 2014 Z28 steering wheel. Just wondering if the steering wheel swap would be plug and play or would there be more electrical customization to be done. I will not be doing this myself either way. It will be done at the dealer.

Yes, its a plug and play.
Are you doing this swap just for the flat bottom steering wheel?

Yes, but mostly for the suede wrapped steering wheel. It feels so much better.

1LE steering wheel is suede wrapped and it retains the SS badging on the bottom rather than having the Z/28 badge if that matters at all.

How would you install the airbag?
Is a 1LE steering wheel literally plug n play? No wiring or airbag troubles? |

Yes plug and play. The airbag disconnects after unplugging it after 30 min I believe.

yea you should go with the 1le wheel. Youll want the SS badge on the bottom. its all plug and play. i think you just need a t45 or t50 torx bit to take out the bolt but thats about it. pull her straight off and unplug the harness. goodluck with the airbag, ive take out numerous and they havent gotten any easier

Its fairly simple. Unhook the battery, wait 15-20 minutes for the airbag to discharge. Use a small allen wrench to push in the holes behind the steering wheel to release the airbag. Unhook the 2 airbag controls. Unbolt old steering wheel. Reverse for new one. Search it on the forum. Theres is a good video on here that I used.

I made the swap to the 1LE wheel in my 1LS. I also grabbed the shifter.
Everything was plug and play, super easy. I followed this guide: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317592
