As long as this country remains a major user in petroleum, I don't see this being a hit. I love the idea and the fact that less oil is used over time but money talks and petroleum has a lot of it

Ah, but if it makes oil changes easier and faster, more people may change oil more often, leading to more oil actually being used. Petroleum companies would certainly like that idea.

Dealership service departments are where dealers make the most money. I don't see them being too excited about something that will reduce revenue and profitability. Very cool tech though.

Looks like a swapable dry sump reservoir. Wonder how much those carbon fiber tanks would go for? Probably could do quite a few oil changes the old way before you saw a return on your investment.

The carbon-fiber tank is in the million-dollar supercar. The "regular" vehicles will get high-strength plastic I'm sure.

I can see the costs of oil changes going up exponentially simply because of the materials.
