That doesn't really make sense. If you're an internet racer, by definition you never visit actual tracks.

Exactly. I read a lot about "who cares about hp or 1/4 mile". It's faster around the ring. But have never been anywhere near the ring, or road course of even auto X for that matter. I guess there argument is null now. Won't have a standard to compete against or brag about.

My point was that they can't get beaten at a drag strip they never go to, therefore your comment makes no sense.

Blame the Germans. They started the pissing match there, now everyone has been using it but not anymore. I think the reasoning for the speed limits is dumb. For Closed and public sessions, if you are a spectator in the "danger sections" you are there at your own risk. Too much babying from the Green party I bet.

Good. It seems like recently, every manufacturer is boasting a Nurburgring lap time. Stop it already. Just another dumb sound byte for advertising.

Only thing is there really isn't a straight section long enough to let a more powerful car use its power as an advantage. It's it a very technical track good to highlight handling ability.

And? That's the point of a well built track car.

It wasn't a knock against the track, but wouldn't exactly be a replacement for the high speed corners and straight sections that the Ring offers. Different abilities show up on tracks like the Ring, like the ability to break from 150mph+ for a sharp turn, or hold the corner at 120mph. Not enough room at Laguna Seca for that. At least as far as the Z06, GT350, and Z/28 are concerned.

Didn't know that. But what will be the point of the race track in the 'insurance companies dictate how we approach our business' entertainment complex? Race tracks are inherently dangerous.

Hmmm does this mean the C7 Z06 will be the last official production car with a laptime at The Ring?
If so, I hope Chevy got a good laptime.
