What will it take

Okay, so don't laugh at me. I am wondering what all you guys especially the ones with some experience at boosting the HP of the current ZL1, what it will take to get the crank hp up to 750hp.

Supercharge pulley change, headers, tune what would it take. Any one of these not void warrantee.

Thank
Jim

Let the games begin.

Lingenfelter and others already have LT4 packages, look those up online.

I've talked to Lingenfelter and Hennessey, any of the 720, 750 or 800 HP upgrades do void the warranty. I would expect that on the motor. My concern is it voiding the warranty on the A10 transmission, an expensive gamble.

It's better to think in terms of drivetrain rather than motor and transmission. Drivetrain warranty is lost with any modification of any of the components. Including pullies and other bolt-ons.

Another reason to wait on the A10 transmission at least 1 model year after it is out if you plan to mod.

There are people that will buy the new ZL1 with the full intent to mod going in knowing they won't have driveline issues with adding another 200 hp/ft lbs with right install and tune. GM probably knows this based on the current ZL1, Z07, 2nd and 3rd gen CTSV.

Might be another reason there is a delay. The A10 is the only driveline component not in these Cars.

Whatever you do to add 100 hp is going to void the warranty

Does Callaway have something that doesn't void warranty? Don't they have a close relationship to Chevy?

I don't know how true it is, but they state "supplements GM warranty"...they have a 757HP package.

Callaway offers the most comprehensive aftermarket warranty in the industry. Overlapping the factory GM warranty, Callaway covers all Callaway components and GM components that are affected by Callaway components. GM dealers do not block factory warranty on Callaway Corvettes; they perform maintenance and warranty repairs with support from Callaway Cars.

I know my luck.... A few people add bolt-on, pulleys, tunes and etc and nothing will ever happen to their car. I add a catch-can and the motor blows up, transmission falls out and the driveshaft shatters.

Let's just say this....it is not going to be as easy to mod the LT4 as it was the LSA. The S/C is already spinning pretty much at capacity and cooling has already been known to be an issue on the Vette so be carful jumping to pulley swaps right off the bat. It comes with Tri-Y headers already so not sure how much you are going to gain there BUT there is HP gains to be made in removing the CATS and in a good CAI and tune.

yup, that's why these tuners are changing out the SC - I don't think it's a good idea to do a pulley alone due to how fast it spins, like you said.

I think with the new Z06 hood on the 17's, these tuners will be able to swap out the SC without cutting the hood. Pretty sure that would hold true on the Camaro.

Hey Jim,

Here is exactly what you need to make that power number with the current ZL1:

Unfortunately for your build plans we have been hard at work developing packages that will produce well over 750rwhp on LT4 platform vehicles. We have a 16 Z07 without a heart ATM, because she is being built. She has a quad digit rwhp life in her future!

Pics or it didn't happen, right?

The LT1 C7 top left is also a quadruple digit power car...

The 2017 Z06 didn't get a new hood, only a new hood liner. This provides enough clearance for the taller lid and the canted intercooler cores within. You are right though about the caveats of a small pulley up top and/or larger pulley down below. Makes for a brag-queen for a dyno pull, then hot. But there are solutions out there

GM warranty will be void however, if you go with Callaway, Lingenfelter and Hennesey they offer warranty that mimics the GM warranty. For Callaway and Lingenfelter for example, they work with dealerships all over the country for it... Callaway has been known to send techs out to you if the dealership cannot fix it.

I personally will be going with Lingenfelter 750 package.
