Looking at it, looks like just the filter is K&N so the rest may be GM.

not sure if it is still an issue but Z06 owners were getting their engines replaced by GM

Kind of kills the numbers matching aspect though

I'd appreciate input on the following mods for my incoming 2014. Again, I've not owned a Camaro before, so I fully acknowledge I'm not up to speed on all the details under the skin.

Here are the mods I want to make:

1. Lower driver's seat:
This is essential as I'm 6'7" and won't fit well with a helmet on. I'd really appreciate input from anyone as to whether or not the existing seat can be lowered. If not, I'll go with more of a racing shell. I'm assuming the Camaros have side airbags in the doors, not the seats -- can someone confirm that for me? I'm asking that because having them in the doors means no fault codes to worry about if I have to change the seats. Are there any other issues I need to be aware of?

2. Install harness bar & harnesses:
I'm really unaware of what's on the market that might be "plug & play" for this, or whether or not I'll need to have this fabricated.

3. Remove rear seat and install "parcel shelf":
I need this for hauling track gear and want to find a fabricator for this, as I'd like this to look as though it was planned all along by Al & Friends...

4. Order extra set of wheels/tires for street usage:
Any suggestions on street tires in the correct sizing? Lots of folks rave about the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, but they didn't work well on my last car. I suspect they didn't like the negative camber...

Hey Brt,

1. air bags are in the seats. if you go aftermarket, you will need to wire in a resistor to bypass the airbag light. lowering the factory seats will require chopping out the factory seat mounts which are spot welded to the frame, and gabbing up a new mount. We are running aftermarket seats with a cage, and even with the cobra's we are lowering them 1.5 inches to get the driver/pass head away from the cage.

2. there are options for this. Cipher is a sponsor here and sells them. Speedware also came up in a quick search.

3. some have done DIY seat deletes with carpeting to give it the factory look. We are thinking of producing a trunk/cab divider panel in carbon to give the interior a nice look.

4. michilin Pilot super sport are the michilin's 'next gen' ps2, and they have received rave reviews. there is also toyo proxes 1, which are fairly new, so not too many reviews on those. for wheels go forgeline hands down. I say they are the best, bar none, will shed 3-4 lbs per wheel compared to the OE 19's, and will make whatever size and offset you want.
