We here at Livernois Motorsports can't wait to get our hands on a Z/28 so we can do our head cam package to it like we did to this 427 convertible Corvette that we just finished up at the shop!!!!

You guys are going to do mine. I've been making Steve's life hell for a few weeks now with unlimited questions

I'm trying to decide between forced induction vs NA, but leaning towards NA for sure. I've never road raced, but I'm sure I'll have some fun on the weekends at a road course with this car. I'll probably drive it on the street more though.

Here is a question: my buddy says it's always the z06s with big cams that blow their motors at his track. How easy is it blow a motor with heads/cam/exhaust/intake/tune set up? Does the tune have to be bad? I have more experience with superchargers and I know forced induction has more pitfalls, but what are the pitfalls with an aggressive NA setup?

The LS7 guide issue is prevelant on NA and blower builds. My guess is your friend sees more NA failures because there are far more NA builds out there then FI builds. but the percentage rate is essentially the same. The sample size is just bigger on an NA build.

Now, the only true pitfalls is that the car does not like to be cruised at sub 1800rpm levels. So just drive it a gear lower than now and all will be fine

Also, consider valve guides a maintenance item. Inspect and potentially replace ever year if you are racing the car.

Thanks for all the info. In a perfect world, I'd like to have a a lot of low end torque as well as being able to have fun on a road course. Do you think going with a heartbeat or whipper would cause heat issues at the track?

In Texas? I would say yes, if it's a short course, not that big of a deal, but I would keep this car as intended. an NA track beast
