Rev Limiter hits at 5k to 6k in first and second Gear 1600 mile mark

I have a 2017 ZL1 6speed Manual and I just hit 1600 miles and wanted to see how this thing pulls from first to second gear and the rev limiter is all over the map, sometimes it cuts the car off at 5100 rpm and at 6000 rpm.
When you down shift into second gear and floor it it will sometimes hit 6500 but will hesitate at 5100 rpm most of the time.
Someone said something about a air filter problem??
Not really sure I believe that could be it but who knows.
I race Super Stock Race cars and work on cars for a living so I do know how to test this car in all driving modes.Just starting to get into any info anyone has on this.
I have tested in all driving modes it does the same thing it just cuts the car off at different rpm's.
Didn't get to third gear yet..

I had the same thing happening. Engine just completely cuts power while I was trying 0-60 runs after break in. Usually around 5000-5500 rpm, but before 6500 redline. They think it is a air filter issue. I'm getting replacement today. I will update when resolved. Good luck!

It would seem easy to check. Pull the filter and try again.

I am getting the filter today. The problem is that it doesn't have the problem every single time. It is random. They seem the thing it has to do with humidity?

If the filter is collapsing due to pressure drop, I would expect humidity would have little to do with it. I still suggest making a few runs (not in a sandstorm obviously) without any filter.

Just took for test drive without and it's better a little doggy without but still shut down twice but also two runs did fine..
Sometimes you just have to try things like this ..

If you did 4 runs without the filter and 2 were fine and 2 shut down, it certainly is not the filter causing the problem.

We really need to combine these 2 threads on the same topic.

Correct..I don't think it is the filter.

Well, that's disappointing. I was hoping we had solved the issue. There are a few people on here who have had issues with fan belt rubbing on wires and causing similar issues. Do a search and see if you can find it. Good luck and let us know because I have the exact same issues!
