Question Z06 Deposits?

Has anyone successfully placed a deposit for a 2015 Z06 with a dealer and get some sort of confirmation?

Thanks!

I've seen posts on another Corvette Forum from folks who say they have placed deposits on a 2015 ZO6. Actually production seems to be scheduled for early August according to another post. We'll have to wait and see.

My sales person has confirmed he has one deposit for a Z06. It's from a friend of a member in my Corvette club, who also confirms said deposit. In essence, the dealership holds onto the deposit check, reserving first dibs for this person. It's exactly the process as when I placed a deposit for my Z51 last year in February.

I'm on two different allocation 'waiting lists'... no deposit needed for me. It really depends on the business relationship you have with a local dealership but most require some type of earnest (refundable) deposit especially volume sellers.

How the hell can you place a deposit on a car that doesn't have a firm sticker price???? Are you willing to spend $120k out the gate or think it may cost $80k? Will the dealer give you the deposit back???? I only can guess the deposit guys want to be the first on the block with a new Z. Once out I will take a test drive, review the first year problems and then decide based on price. quality of build, driving excitement and driving comfort. This purchase will be my last modern muscle car and hopefully be priced under $100k

Its easy to put a deposit down - just walk into you dealer, hand them a check. 😊 I put $1000 down on my Z51 Stingray just 3 weeks after it was unveiled. My dealership was very open about the process and held my check until the paper work was completed. Fully refundable should anything happen. The way I figured it, I would get the lowest sticker price, best customer service and knew GM would put exceptional QC into the earliest cars. And all along its worked out just fine - the dealership staff treats me like family, I didn't get hit with a recent $6000 price hike, and my Stingray has been virtually flawless since day one! It worked just fine for me.

I think a lot would have to depend on what kind of dealership you have to work with, too.

It's almost a shoe-in that the base sticker for the C7 Z06 will be roughly at or a tad below 80K. The C7 Stingray was/is a significant bang-for-the-buck and the C7 Z06 will still be a major bang-for-the-buck considering the robust powerplant and the supercar perfomance that mimics (or perhaps surpasses) the C6 ZR1 which was approximately 35K more... worth watching this:

(listen well... pay attention)

It was just confirmed this past weekend that pricing info will be released in the 3rd quarter of this year and deliveries will start in the 1st quarter of 2015. This was all released at the Bash in BG. I'm not taking deposits until pricing is released. You gotta remember that last year the Z06 priced out in the low $100k range and this new one could start right there or in the high $90k's. I'm betting they start at $94,990 + $995 destination and top out at $120k or so. I hope it's lower since I sell them, but I figure there's no way you get ZR1 (or better) technology for less than what the Z sold for last year. We're right around the 3rd or 4th largest vette dealers in the country and I know that the some of the guys bigger than us have already said they're asking at least $20k over so you could see this car doing what the ZR1 did back in 2009 and early 2010.
